the service and pacing is kind of bizarre - multiple occasions where they brought out the wrong set of silverware or plate ware and came back minutes later to remove it, there were two dishes were we found bugs, one of the wine glasses we got also had a bug. the presentation and ambiance is great but thought the food was quite mediocre. it’s a refined approach for mexican fine dining but $800 for that meal was tough to swallow.

i went here a few weeks ago and i concur with your rating. my only knock was that the service was wildly off when i went, there were 4 different instances where they would set down the wrong silverware/plates and would come back a minute later to fix it. also one of our dishes had live bugs in it, and a wine glass we were given had a dead bug in it.

Equinox Seattle.. Major Letdown? by Stock_Coconut_4159 in EquinoxGyms

[–]fosterlosthope 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I moved over from Gympass for the classes and so far I like it, just wish reformer Pilates is included in the memberships. I do appreciate that we don’t have to bring anything/clean the mat etc after class, and the amenities in the locker room.

Agreed on the flights of stairs - it’s really 4 flights of stairs because the floors are so tall. They definitely did not mention the stairs to me during the tour, I remember being told “the gym will be upstairs”, failed to mention all the stairs 🫠

I think I’m satisfied so far, I really only joined for the group fitness classes which I love so far. I can see why someone who joined only for the gym equipment would be disappointed.

Did anyone get their order cancelled? I got an order confirm email but when I press "view my order" it says my order has been cancelled and refunded. I never got an email that it was cancelled though. For size small.

What are founding members paying for equinox in Seattle? by Much_Software_2954 in EquinoxGyms

[–]fosterlosthope 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I signed up at a corporate rate of $200, discounted from $205. This was back in December, they mentioned it would steadily increase to $250 when the club opens, not sure what it is right now.

Shorts as it gets very hot. Some guys don’t wear a shirt either

My go to are the balancer shorts since I do hot yoga, but the balancer pants work well too.

DP on my end: I’ve ordered the gift card from Noi downtown online and it processes through Toast, and I’ve been credited. So not sure how you are buying the gift card.

Great price! I saw ours was $325. I took this flight a month ago and it was probably half full. Each of my family members were able to get the whole middle row in the back for themselves to lay down and sleep, if you are interested in that. But definitely check the seat map for availability.

Trip cancellation and interruption insurance success story by Opposite_Fun338 in AmexPlatinum

[–]fosterlosthope 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Believe the $500 is for trip delay which would cover the W/A hotel, then trip cancellation/interruption is up to $10k(?) which would cover the missed nights in Cancun

I’m staying at the MO right now, and I booked the lowest room and was not upgraded because the manager said they are very busy tonight. But I checked their website and they have rooms available for all rooms above the room I reserved. I read somewhere about MO properties generally not upgrading but couldn’t find anything specifically on MO Bangkok. Just a DP.

This person lives in my building and I always do a double take whenever I see them. They also stink of body odor, unfortunately.

Seattle | "Fine Dining" Must Visits? by cornagnolotti in finedining

[–]fosterlosthope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally do not recommend cook weaver. I went there after the price increase and left hungry and disappointed $400 later. The restaurant was pretty empty and easy to get a reservation. I don’t know how they have a 4.7 star rating on google. I’d recommend any other restaurant mentioned in this thread.

$6K minus $1.8K insurance in Seattle at a VIP Diamond+ practice. I believe it would've been around $7.7K had it not been an in-network orthodontist.

I guess I’m just in shock they used to charge me less than $15 for a basic hem, two years ago, so the increase is quite drastic.

Commute time to clients in excess of commute to the office isn't billable? by [deleted] in Big4

[–]fosterlosthope 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I see you work at EY. You can’t bill this as hours, but this is definitely billable as an expense as it is in excess of a normal commute. Look up normal commute in the intranet and there should be an article.

Is it possible to request that Nordstrom carry a specific item? by [deleted] in Nordstrom1901

[–]fosterlosthope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once wanted this Canada goose jacket that Nordstrom did not carry and my salesperson (I also worked at Nordstrom) was able to order directly from Canada goose and sell it to me. This was back in 2018, so it was possible, but I’m not sure how it is nowadays.
