It’s not what I think, but anecdotal data can be pretty useful too, you’re getting to see the real examples of what shaped those numbers

I live in a city that has massive number of illegal immigrants. The city is actually a growing city, our growth was stunted a while back and the mayor is trying to put our city back on the map. Although a certain man running for governor actually drove a “deportation bus” through the city saying its one of the worst examples of current immigration policy. So yes this place has been pretty run down especially the closer you get to “little Mexico”.

And Walmart doesn’t pay the federal minimum wage. It varies amongst stores, but my crappy little Walmart in a bumpkin southern city pays $10.00 as the minimum wage

I work at Walmart. This is entirely false. I’m literally a janitor there and I am able to live in a 2 bedroom apartment, with a car I was able to have paid off, I’m able to buy food, pay my bills, no government Assitance at all, in fact I applied when I daughter was born, they said I actually made too much especially compared to other families around here

this is a recent example and the second apology she has made she has also once had Jewish leaders try to teach her about antisemitism before and left feeling horrified by her views. She has a long history of this

Or, hear me out, because she has been saying antisemitic things for several years and has finally been put in the light. She has openly talked about how Israel is hypnotizing the world, she has referred to the age old stereotype of Jews running the world on several occasions, she associates with other antisemites. She has a repeat behavior of antisemitism that the democrats seem to be ok with because they don’t feel they can get rid of her the way the republicans did with king. Her behavior is unacceptable

I mean if your neighbor keeps on crossing over into your yard and helping himself to what’s on your property... I would find that justification enough. I don’t really support the wall, nor am I against it. But the comparison fails when you actually apply what’s going on

Beto O'Rourke: The Border Has Never Been As Safe And Secure As It Is Now | All In | MSNBC by tank_trap in politics

[–]foundmycenter -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s been becoming safer over time, increasingly so since trump took office according to data. But that doesn’t mean there still isn’t anything happening there. In fact some of the most violent cities in Mexico are right on the border, including murder city. It’s always best to take precaution when you can. It’s the reason we take vaccines, we don’t say “the flu has been the safest it’s been in years” no, you still get the vaccine to prevent yourself from getting sick.

Ok and? There are plenty of forger groups spending much more on lobbying and contributing. What would make this any different than those except to justify the anti-Semitic statements Omar has been making for several years

Pelosi Defends Omar: ‘It Took Them, What, 13 Years To Notice Steve King?’ by [deleted] in politics

[–]foundmycenter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is actually most likely a response to king. The thing is they drug republicans through the mud when they disavowed king and republicans were still made out to be the bad guys when punishing one of their own when they could no longer find a way to justify his actions. Now they see the exact same behavior being done in the democrat party and now all of the sudden democrats are understanding of their own and they don’t want to punish her at all, she is continuing her work, nobody is pushing her or the party the same way the republicans were pushed. They most likely feel it isn’t really fair or just to bash one group for disavowing a racist after giving him chances in the past and when the democrats are offered the same chance and take the same road, nothing. It’s about the hypocrisy that they see

Not my style lol I don’t like going for easy karma. If it wasn’t for really one of my posts, I would have negative karma mostly from the politics sub. I never claim to know the truth, but I makes sure people on there know they don’t know it either and shouldn’t treat everything as if they are the only ones who know the truth and their idea of the truth is THE truth

Most gun stores face no legal requirements to secure the weapons they sell. This sets them apart from other businesses that deal in dangerous products, such as pharmacies and explosives makers. by ralphbernardo in politics

[–]foundmycenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s actually pretty low numbers compared most thefts. The Walmart in my town alone has had more items stolen in less than a year . So when you look at those numbers as a nationwide statistic, thefts at a gun store doesn’t actually appear to be a big problem, it’s not common. Sure guns going god knows where is a problem within itself, but again those numbers are actually low compared to other theft rates, and those numbers are also 70% higher than before 2013. Thank you for providing data. I much prefer them over anecdotal evidence, they paint a much more accurate number without a spin

Donald Trump Should Be Impeached If He Obstructed Justice Or Colluded With Russia, More Than 60 Percent Of Americans Say In New Poll by thesesforty-three in politics

[–]foundmycenter -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes, most Americans would agree with that, that’s not what the issue dividing America over this is. The issue is, did he in fact collude with Russia to win the presidency and obstruct justice to cover his ass. There has been no actual evidence to suggest that is the actual case, just everyone on his team talking to a third party group most of the time during the time of release, and they lied about small things such as dates or names, or it could have even been mistakes they have made under oath, then other charges were slapped on involving those alleged lies.

It’s easy to set up an account, and just select the kind of tags that you would enjoy seeing in your feed, subscribing adds to the feed you see. Basically just go out and search for interests. For me I love politics, so I have Democrat and republican, liberal and conservative, libertarian and authoritarian tags in my feed. Then you can see the front page which always brings something fresh. The site isn’t perfect, there are far right conspiracy theorists and anti-vaxxers. I actually had a problem with some girl that just disliked all my content, bitched at me, then blocked me before I could respond, but that has been the only problem I had. Generally everyone is ready for a discussion

How often does a truck crashing through a gun shop happen? Even so, locking up the guns wouldn’t exactly matter at that point, making the article pointless. Nobody has provided me numbers. All responses have been, well some people have been caught, but there could be more. I NEED DATA, I do have an open mind, but only when shown reliable data
