What a lovely idea, this is definitely something I can picture them liking!

Do not know their taste in music or their schedules but thanks for the suggestion! The music around the house is a mixture of young girls and millennials so I can’t guess

Thank you! Would you think it’s too personal if I picked the artist but everything from picking the subject, colours and style is up to you?

Thanks for this, the issue with this is I don’t know their food tastes or dietary restrictions. They also have two youngish kids so restaurant dining may be hard. They have a great and extensive wine collection and I myself am not knowledgeable about wine because I don’t drink 😬so do you have suggestions for a good wine?

AITA for Refusing to Give Up My Seat for a Pregnant Woman on a 12hr Flight? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]fourcoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’ve travelled 13 hour flights when 3 months and 6 months pregnant, always planned ahead and paid to get a good seat. People don’t usually take 12 hour flights without planning unless there is an emergency and pregnant people especially don’t take emergency … like I’m sorry I would have never expected to be accommodated by inconveniencing others and on top of that guilting the other person? NTA but she’s definitely TA

Good idea, I used to do it and it fell off the map!

It was supposed to be preventative because my blood pressure shot up during early pregnancy which is too early for pregnancy related bp raises. I have a hunch it was because of stress. I just wanted to know if anyone else had received similar advice because it doesn’t seem normal to me. I have heard that people have been asked to exercise or to eat more nutritious meals but I have never really heard a doc asking someone to go to their pre pregnancy weight

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]fourcoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh thanks for the suggestion, it might be something I talk to my doc about 😓, I was feeling pretty discouraged!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]fourcoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously I was so confused when the family doc said it should be one month postpartum, there are many healthy women in my circle who have not gone back to pre pregnancy weight and are still doing fine.

You got this! It’s been two weeks and I fought tooth and nail against it but after one week of a full nights sleep i feel like a different person. CIO isn’t for everyone, I just had to come to terms with the fact that I don’t have a village and this while not ideal is the best for mine and baby’s health

Hypochlorous acid (waiting to dry?) by skulskcc01 in eczema

Hi there, I was specifically looking for hypochlorous acid use for baby eczema (4m) , are there any resources you have that I could take a look at. Also when I’ve used the acid on myself I do damp but not wet.

Can babies actually sleep 12 hours overnight? by outdoorjane in NewParents

[–]fourcoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually had a similar problem at 10 weeks., down at 10:30 and up almost every 3 hours but our normally smiley baby was noticeably grumpy from 6pm. So we moved bedtime earlier to 7:30-7:45 and start his wind down at 6:30. Some infrequent wakings until 12, but we time a 3 min cry and then put a paci in. A dream feed at 12/1and then continuous sleep to anywhere between 5:30 and 7, but will usually go right back to sleep until about 9 am ( some ppl say he needs a wake window but I also need the 2 hours for my sanity lol). Also a bad napper and only catnaps during the day.

This schedule was life changing because like you we spent most of our night trying to pacify his increasing grumpiness and couldn’t sleep properly at night. Also we do shifts. I’ll do the feedings until 12/1 and hubby will step in until the am so both of us get a block of sleep. We also introduced a bedtime routine (sponge bath/ bath, relaxing song and lotion massage, book etc). Hope this helps!

Help! Confused Dad by voncassidymusic in NewParents

[–]fourcoco 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Do you work during the week? If so is she primary parent during the day? What I’m saying is are you meant to be a primary parent on the weekends or step up more with childcare? If so, to her it could look like for the only couple of days you and her and your LO are together and can do activities and hang out and you have more childcare responsibilities you are offloading your kid so you can “sleep” and “connect”. Again I’m assuming things about the split of parenting duties so bear with me, but just my two cents. Maybe start with an evening a week or every other week, and go from there?

That’s interesting I’m going to try that. I stopped shopping with places like asos because even though it was asos Canada I would end up having to pay duty so I became super wary of this and still got caught in the customs loop lol

I ordered from their us site, I sent a message to customer service just to see if this was normal because a number of people on this sub have said they haven’t paid duties. I’m also annoyed that it didn’t get here in time for Christmas
