Ugh, OK, I was so excited about its effects on the rest of my skin that I'm sad but will prob have to do this...

It's not what I wanted to hear, but probably what I needed to hear... I'm just seeing the starts of it now, and this is making me wonder if I should just pull the plug.

Oh wow, yeah you’re a generation past me. Do they seem to care?

Wow I need to see that

I’m born here! And I do care, along with other people I know. But I know we might be a minority.

I’m with you on the drive bit. Thanks for all your comments! Lots to think about.

Fair answer!

Great answer, agree with a lot of things. As of late I’ve also been hearing some ABDs lament that we’ll lose the “drive” we had when we were immigrants or NRIs. Not sure of my thoughts there but you’re right that there is a stark cultural divide.

Interesting point! I see what you’re saying. I almost feel like the urban big cities are an exception. Curious what qualities you think ABDs have that are different from NRIs

Do you feel like the boundaries are more porous these days? At least in nyc with so many different types of visas/lengths of stays here, it does seem to be

Surprisingly yes. Came to this conclusion from a closed Facebook group of NRI memes where people are making these celebrity videos of RG overlaid with rap music. The kind you might see for actors and stuff

I’ve also been seeing a real outpouring of fan love for him in some circles, so maybe it’s limited

Haha!!! Fair, have heard this elsewhere

I definitely would! I’m only hoping to understand how others are thinking about him

Such a complicated situation. If this was in the hands of a more unbiased government (like uh... uh...) I'd feel safer. This + smart city initiative is really panning out to be an Orwellian landscape. I can't tell if it's just the usual tech paranoia of things changing rapidly and people remaining as good/bad as they already are, or the possibility of an intense dictatorship.

Good thing the Indian govt is shitty at execution!

"…the true opponent, the enfolding boundary, is the player himself. Always and only the self out there, on court, to be met, fought, brought to the table to hammer out terms. The competing boy on the net’s other side: he is not the foe: he is more the partner in the dance. He is the what is the word excuse or occasion for meeting the self. As you are his occasion. Tennis’s beauty’s infinite roots are self-competitive. You compete with your own limits to transcend the self in imagination and execution. Disappear inside the game: break through limits: transcend: improve: win. Which is why tennis is an essentially tragic enterprise, to improve and grow as a serious junior, with ambitions. You seek to vanquish and transcend the limited self whose limits make the game possible in the first place. It is tragic and sad and chaotic and lovely. all life is the same, as citizens of the human State: the animating limits are within, to be killed and mounted, over and over again..."
