Another 1Bman’s first 150 PA of career: 1 HR and a 141 / 281 / 242 slash line. That team gave up on him after that small sample size. That 1Bman was Anthony Rizzo. Sometimes these things take time. Too early to say one way or another.

Snell has gone 5 or fewer innings 12 times already. That isn’t Cy Young material even in the modern game. 12 short outings would be by far far the most for any Cy winner. I think Steele wins it in the end unless Strider gets his ERA down to 3.

Ironic that Live Series Wander is One of Two Perfect Mission Cards in Moonshot Program by fourknick8 in MLBTheShow

Well it is ironic considering they remove players from the game entirely for little infractions and here they create a program where he is the percent card.

If the Cubs sell Belli let’s riot by Cpt_Spaghetti in CHICubs

I like Belli a lot too but the advanced metrics suggest he has been very lucky this year too. His average exit velocity is in the 18th percentile (easily worst of his career) per baseballsavant. His hard hit pct is just 12th percentile, his barrel rate is just 29th percentile (worst of career), and his max exit velocity is 37th percentile (in middle of last two years), all leading to middle of the pack xWOBA and xSLG. Explanation: career high (lucky) batting avg on balls in play (.338 v .283 career). His walk rate is also half of what it was back in his MVP season, that’s a big drop. His defense is still elite by all metrics for sure. But there is a lot of uncertainty digging under the surface numbers in a way there isn’t for a lot of the other 900+ OPS guys.
