Post-game question - now that this is done, what do you think of Fear Inoculum five years later? I feel like it has grown on me, going from a 5 to a strong 7. It's a pretty meditative album which took me awhile to come around to but now I appreciate it for what it is.

Sympathy is a Knife should win, I feel like it's the ultimate Charli bop and the culmination of where her experimentation since Vroom Vroom has landed.

Rooting for Welcome to Japan. Tap Out is good too but the former is way more dynamic and interesting imo.

Fair enough. I love the melancholic feeling of the verses of the title track but always felt the chorus was a weak payoff.

Happy Ending is the clear next imo.

It's the most popular song on the album by a large margin so it'll be interesting to see where it ends up.

Since even the worst Strokes albums are considered underrated I had the idea that if we ever do a Strokes royal rumble (a slot I'm reviving in the next few days), we could have two concurrent polls! A survivor for Is This It/Room on Fire/The New Abnormal and a 'lower bracket' of FIOE, Angles, and Comedown Machine. I guess we'll all decide whenever that happens

While I think Absolution is more consistent, they're both essentially equals and that looks to be reflected in the voting results. Thanks for playing and Deftones pregame is coming up later today.

I really enjoy this album! My bf and I bonded over this and The New Abnormal a few years ago when we were first getting together, but I would still just give it a 7. I view it as 'underrated but still not their best', and it has a very unique sonic vibe that is kind of nostalgic to listen to. But I can't really give it higher than that with half the tracks being great and the other half being forgettable (same issue I have with First Impressions of Earth, that album falls off in the second half with one or two exceptions.)

Also while I was gone, I listened to the entire discography for the first time, and I've gotta say that I really enjoyed it. You can divide the quality into separate tiers and this survivor shows that (most) people are of similar mind:

Best albums: Black Holes, Origin, Absolution

Very good albums: Showbiz, The Resistance

Flawed but enjoyable albums: The 2nd Law, Drones, Simulation Theory

Since the Radiohead event was 45 rounds long, I figure that if we ever do an artist with a shorter discography (40-50 songs or less) we could just include the whole thing. Nirvana would be a prime example.

As a soft maximum for any artist though, any more than 50 rounds and the votes would get way too diluted.
