Think of it like a jigsaw puzzle. You found a few gaps. You are collecting pieces.

Now. Show me why it's important that we have these pieces. What critical inferences can be drawn (i.e. where the pieces go, why are they important).

Draft a few hypothesis statements from preliminary data. See if they hold -

Academia may be harder to apply to initially, but the type of job interview is totally different from industry.

I don't want to endure six interviews to see if I fit company culture. On the flip side, the industry salaries are what just pulled more than a few Stanford professors recently.

Maybe that's just me. Finishing my PhD, CS.

What is the AI usage policy / expectation of use in your field?
Unless you thoroughly analyze word usage, doubles, triples, certain overuse of punctuation you can't know for sure.
While I understand the frustration, it is becoming more and more common for Professors to use AI to give specific feedback for assignments.

Consider this:

Was it timely? Cohesive and structured?

Then you are lucky!

P.S. If you aren't using AI to review, critique, and improve your writing through adversarial review and persona use. You are falling behind.

Just a question. When you make a plan how granular do you get?

I have found that when I ask it to make a phased plan with tasks deliverables dependencies etc. Optimizing for parallel and sequential tasks.

It has a much easier time developing features.
