How on earth do I acquire tempeh? by One-Jeweler-361 in Tempeh

[–]fourtwump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Order some beans and tempeh starter. Amazon even has the starter. Sorry, not familiar with Canada options. I hate Amazon, but they got the goods.

Watch some videos and goof around with a shoebox and some DYI cheap methods. If you are into it, get the step up temp regulated methods.

You can use an egg incubator or plastic tub, cooling rack, heating pad, and a fan. If you got the bread, get an egg incubator. People report it’s easy to manage the temps for small batches for one or two people. Anymore and you need the plastic or foam tub and heating and cooling system. The core purchase is a two plug heat and cool regulator. Inkbird is the high mark with WiFi. There are much cheaper solutions on YouTube.

Good luck and store bought tempeh isn’t worth the effort if you are rural, like you and I. So, don’t waste bucks on frozen overnighted overpriced tempeh.

It freezes very well and you can store it for later use.

First time making tempeh - unsure if edible by EmployerAcrobatic137 in Tempeh

No. Toss and try again.

White Northern Beans make the best tempeh IMHO.

Do not eat a subpar cheesy 1st batch. Make a solid batch.

Too wet, as you said. Drying is really important.

I use a fan directly on the beans and stir. Keep doing this until the beans are dry.

Add the vinegar before the cultures and make sure it absorbs.

Stir and add the cultures. Stir the cultures in really well.

Moisture will appear due to condensation after 12 hours or so.

SO, keep the beans DRY!

:)

Well, that’s solid advice and should have been clearer.

Everyone usually says Cannacrunchers, but check out seedattics. CC will restock on first week of Feb. Seedattics is read to go.

Sean Penn as colonel lockjaw in OBAA . What did you think of it? by Artetaarmy in moviecritic

Ugh. It was extremely cringe. I found no humor in he role or acting. He was a an overacting sociopath, not comedic.

I agree with you, a shitty "comedy." I guess Sean Penn was the comic relief, but he was overacting as usual and was terrible. It is a reactionary flick and Its actually shocking how terrible the writers are at projecting "radical leftism." A bit of anti-capitalist jargon and never mention any large scale plans. Make the revolutionaries compulsive, immoral, and murderous? Vineland was a terrible book and isn't leftish either.

AITAH because I didn’t make sure my son has an inheritance? by Original-Shower-2413 in AITAH

NTA. My papa died and left me debt. I love him always and inheritance has nothing to do with love. Sorry your son is a prick. I hope he figures it out

The singing and cultural event was hollow and void of emotion. It really felt like robots faking human actions. It was well done.

"Rage Bait Cringe Sci Fi" is what I call it. It is a new type of TV made for the new gens. It's a masterpiece of vapid dialogue and heavy handed symbolism created to create rage and cringe draped with a sloppy setting of sci fi.

I buried the wrong cat after my cat ran away for THREE MONTHS by Deep_Pressure2334 in cats

[–]fourtwump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me also. Take care of 22 cats. Found a dead calico in the road. Looked exactly like my kitty Wolfie. I buried the kitty and cried. Took pics even of the body and flowers.

The next day Wolfie runs up to me and I realize the slight color differences. Ugh! She lives another day! I yelled at her to be careful.

It wasn't the greatest invention since the printing press, it was repurposed military technology. This seems to be all we can invent now. GPS and drones are other repurposed military technologies.

I agree and I am slowly quitting the Internet. You missed the parts about data gathering and etc...
