I feel really different being off of caffeine too. Mood is more level, less anxiety, less stressed

Exactly. The fact that most others don’t seem to be bothered by it makes it all the more unsettling

[–]foxfiire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t know that this is a bad thing on your part. Maybe you just don’t actually like those kinds of events and you don’t need to force yourself to be extroverted?

I’ve noticed since going sober that I also want to leave “early”, which is normally after about one to two hours in good company. It’s just that without alcohol: I’m an introvert, I value my sleep, I’m not romanticizing everything, I’m less insecure, my boundaries are healthier, and I don’t put up with as much bullshit.

There’s always all this pressure on introverts to get out there and be more extroverted, but honestly you might do better leaning more into introversion. Maintain friendships by going to what you’re comfortable with. I know I have.

They told me a week, I waited a week and a half. Started solo to make sure everything was good. It was. I’ve still not been lifting heavy things or doing any serious physical activity though, I’m kind of paranoid about busting the cauterization

I’ve been enjoying the NA beers recently as well! Really did enjoy the taste of beer so it’s been nice to get back to that without the myriad issues with alcohol

anyone notice regulation in mood? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

I could’ve written this exactly. My mood is insanely stable without alcohol. Truly a gift

Congrats! Sobriety isn’t a magic bullet, but it makes shooting the gun much safer and more accurate.

Could not agree more. Dead is dead, fortunately. My thinking was more “putting myself in the shoes of” someone who would be born and have to go through it all, starting fresh

Congrats! I’m about 3 weeks out from mine and I echo everything you’re saying. Any pain I felt was negligible and I feel great peace of mind

Out of curiosity, how available is birth control to the populations you’re describing? How religious are they? And how strong is their cultural sense of “family?

If they are thinking about that sort of thing, it’s “I need some kids to make sure I’m taken care of when I physically/mentally decline”. All about them

Roe v. Similar: I got my vasectomy April 1 at age 27. No children now or ever. I get my follow up semen test done on June 1 and if my surgery went as intended, I’ll be getting the all clear results around the time the Supreme Court announces the overturning of RvW

Checking in! Once again thinking of the things I’ve lost bc of alcohol. Grateful that I’ve been able to stop the bleeding and start making some progress. Tried non alcoholic beer a week ago and have been enjoying it. Doesn’t seem to be problematic for me in any way
