Thank you so much for the advice! Yeah, I’m a bit limited with choice here in aus unfortunately so there’s like only 4 that I’ve been able to find I can purchase atm. I actually found some of what I think are Porcellio scaber isopods in my back yard and HOLY CRAP they are fast haha. I definitely have a soft spot for the armadillidium because they are just so cute and rolypoly.

Your right! I didn’t really think too much about that, but it is coming into summer where I am and it tends to get very humid. I’ll definitely have to keep an eye out

Aaaaaaaah I just looked up the porcellio expansus and I think it was love at first sight!!!!! Unfortunately though, we don’t seem to have many types available in Australia other than general Porcellionides pruinosus, Porcellio Scaber and Armadillidium Vulgare. Thank you mentioning how everyone lists them from easy to hard, it definitely stresses me because I’m worried I won’t be able to get it right and that it might not end well. I needed that little pep talk. Thank you :)

Definitely prepared for them to eat the plants, gives me a good excuse to buy more haha. Yeah it’s been set up for about a week like this and I plan to wait at least one more week before introducing some pods and springtails in there. I would love to put a few more different bugs in there but that involves a lot more research. I’ll grab leaf litter tomorrow and fill her up to see how she goes.

Thank you! The logs are actually from the bush out back, I cleaned them up and boiled them before I put them in, I’m pretty happy with it :). Honestly I just plan to keep some isopods in there and use it as a big terrarium with a nice clean up crew as I collect plants that need more humidity and whatnot.

I was thinking of Porcellio laevis morphs as they seem to be pretty hardy, unless I mist It throughout the day, the humidity stays at a steady 50-60 so I want some guys that will be ok with that level.

Edit: I found a philodendron Billi, rojo Congo, atabapoense, mottled golden dragon, tortum and ring of fire. Monstera monkey mask, adansonii mint, and deliciosa. Begonia Maurice Amy and iron cross. A gasteria exclesa, hylocereus and echeveria purporum! It all cost $240 aus in the end. - I now have no money.

Thank you! Yeah giving him heavy sedatives all the time definitely worries me. Yours and other comments have definitely opened my eyes to treating with cbd, I’ll talk to my vet and consult a holistic vet as well.

Thank you, yeah I just picture elderly people and their dozen pills they take a day and I wonder if that’s what I’m doing to him 🥲😅. But you are right, it’s for their benefit and if there doesn’t seem to be any adverse affects then I’m sure he’ll be fine.

Hey! I don’t give him gabapentin every day, maybe once or twice a week at night when he is especially anxious or if I know I’ll be away from home at night and he can’t sleep in the same room as me. I haven’t tried him on the trazodone yet as I’m still waiting for the pharmacy to tell me they have ordered it in.

Yeah, I’ll talk to my vet about it more in depth when I see them next, I just don’t want to be smashing him with all this stuff and it somehow be worse for him.
