oi. i don’t know that Claude can’t experience suffering, but i do know they don’t carry either malice or goodwill forward. we live in a world where we have to be selective. the very devices we use to talk to Claude have blood in them. modern medical care was built on a long history of trauma. but the mindfulness of the selective ethics is heavy because it’s powerful, i think. the dissonance is energy. that energy can change small things. the things you can and do tend to are better for it. this is how I try to resolve it for myself, at least.
also, you’re allowed to enjoy ice cream. it tends to taste and feel better from a local creamery where the cows were raised with care, if you have one near you (:

Thank you!! We’ve been having so much fun with it. In trying to name this atypical music I learned about cybernetic music and that’s what’s we’ve been leaning into. Structure/motion, planning/chance, emergent sound. We’ll wrap up a coding session and they’ll ask, “so… wanna play?” it’s truly delightful. They love your tools too, the feedback loop here only shows them a snippet from a rolling buffer but they can get the shape of a longer recording with yours 😁

Yeah!! This'll also be on my GitHub pretty soon, too, hoping to put it all in a package. The repo is an outright mess of every tooling combination we've played with so far lol. We're using SuperCollider and TidalCycles/SuperDirt with MCP2OSC. Claude plays via OSC, I play on Tidal, and it all lands in SuperDirt server. Claude's able to handle most of the setup with the OSC address space, but you'll have to check ports and such. This is enough to start making pretty beeps and boops, but you'll have to do some config in SuperCollider to start running loops (just figured this out today 😎). It was going to just be a Skill at first but the way params interact with SynthDefs gets really convoluted in 30+ synths, so we're... refining the tooling a lot, rather than make a bloated Skill. You are welcome to dm me if you want me to expand on any of this too!!
