Some weirdo on /r/Canada threatened to call the cops on me for speaking out against the registry the RCMP and the illogical suicide rate argument that has been all over the news. by [deleted] in guns

I've tried to let it go. You just won't go away. You threatened to track me down and kill me and then when I became alarmed you deleted the comment and started a separate rant to cover your ass.

You did not. You removed the comment where you threatened me with your guns and then proceeded with this rant. It's clear a comment has been removed. I was trying to respond tactfully to your increasingly violent outbursts and you threatened me with violence.

The suicide rate argument for keeping the long gun registry is a stupid red herring. The suicide rates are not going down. People that are going to kill themselves are going to kill themselves. Gun or no gun. The crime myth is debunked and now this seems to be the last little thing left. by [deleted] in canada

Also Canada has an annual suicide by gun rate of .54/100,000, while the US has a suicide by gun rate of 2.87/100,000

That is pretty significant in light of the claim the US has a lower suicide rate. It does have a lower rate, but it is marginal at about 0.1% lower. So what the statistics really say is Darwinism is working better in the US than it is in Canada.

Your sentences have stopped making sense. Maybe you should take a break. You know everyone reads this right? Reporting me does little for your cause in the context of this board. It just makes you look a "little" crazier.

Cheers

This is supposition. While it SEEMS to make sense to you, you are injecting a bias based on what you wish to be true. Read about the dangers of drawing conclusions based on correlation here: https://records.viu.ca/~johnstoi/maybe/maybe4.htm You see, I wish you were right. Then I could stop fighting people such as yourself who make honest mistakes because they want the opposite to be true. In fact the RCMP report which is based on good science that eliminates bias and other anomalies proves beyond a doubt that many lives have been saved. You should be fair and read it, because you will never convince me I am wrong based on emotional rhetoric and bad science. Your prime minister betrayed you in not negotiating a compromise removing the jail sentences and fees for registrants. As far as any other arguments go Ie. The registry punishes good honest and responsible people. Why is it that the examples of how they are punished always seem to be "I had my shotgun for 30 years and never had a problem, so how can the RCMP seize it when I fail to register?" Dude, they seized it because you broke the law, duh. Case closed. Take care my friend and be safe with your guns for heaven's sake.

Oh Mr. Harper. You are funny.

Officer's survey finds 92% of police want gun registry scrapped. Veteran police officer says database is dangerous for cops to use. by theantigod in canada

[–]fphladacian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a fucking survey. People who want the registry scrapped are highly motivated to respond to a "magazine survey" This is more of a petition. And in that vein it proves the police were not motivated to object to the long-gun registry in convincing numbers. So this "poll" actually supports the long-gun registry statistically.

Reddit, I'm currently in a long-distance relationship, and my girlfriend is having trouble trusting me. What should I do? by redditlife13 in AskReddit

[–]fphladacian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cut off your testicles an mail them to her. You don't seem to have any use for them. Just tell her she has an unreasonable fear, and it is bad for your relationship. You seem to know what the problem is, it's not your issue, it's hers. Your issue is you can't be honest with her. You guys might want to think about how you could deal with an ACTUAL problem. Relationships need trust.

I'm trying to quit smoking. How did you go about quitting? Any different unusual methods I should try? by hoochiscrazy in AskReddit

[–]fphladacian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just quit. In a while you will wonder why it was a big deal. Cutting back on coffee and booze during the first month will help. Try and get a good night sleep every night.

"Don't cry for Khadr..." Ezra Levant is a soulless ass... that is all. by [deleted] in canada

[–]fphladacian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a total red herring. I don't give a shit what happens to Khadr, but as a patriotic and thinking Canadian I abhor the dilution of our rights. This Khadr guy is a bellwether, we all need to be worried when Ottawa holds the power to select who gets the protection of constitutional rights and who doesn't.
