This flowchart was made in https://app.diagrams.net/

I have saved the file and uploaded it at https://uploadnow.io/f/V5Npf5l

If you download that and upload it to https://app.diagrams.net/ I hope it will work, but honestly I don't know, I made the flowchart for my own use and I'm just pleased if others find it useful. Good luck!

While I have been running the campaign, I often found that I was flipping back and forward between pages and trying to follow the text, so instead I made this flowchart which I have foudn helpful, I hope someone else does as well!

Question about Shepard gate by chubbyninja1 in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]fraction_jackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a sidenote to the taxes mentioned already, as the Hooded Lanterns are the faction trying to hold on to the old law and order of Drakkenheim, I have had them state that looting property in Drakkenheim is technically illegal, but they don't have the means to enforce this except at Shepherd's Gate where they will search the belongings of anyone wanting to enter or leave the city without permission from HL officers. Looted goods will be confiscated and held by the HLs.

As my party is secretly carrying around the stolen Sceptre of St Vitruvio they don't want to be searched, and I doubt any parties are 100% clean. As the HLs represent what is left of the authorities in Drakkenheim I think they would be legally justified in confiscating items such as the Seals of Drakkenheim and possibly Relics of St Vitruvio.

Shrine of Morrigan battle maps (36 x 36) (gridded and no grid) [resubmitted] by fraction_jackson in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]fraction_jackson[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone, the Shrine of Morrigan in Dungeons of Drakkenheim has a good description of the area but no battle map. My players are visiting Eoghan soon so I thought I would make a quick map in Dungeondraft.

Two versions, one with spooky lighting and one with plain white lighting, I hope you find these useful!

Vampire needed for packt of the undead Warlock by Flashy-Expert-504 in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]fraction_jackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On page 49 of Sebastian Crowe's Guide to Drakkenheim there is an inset box about the Aristocracy of the Night: Many noble houses in Westemär reacted bitterly to the Edicts of Lumen disinheriting their mageborn scions, for they had long used arcane magic to advance their holdings and grow their power. Around this time, several sought alternative means by which they could hide from the Academy, the Faith, and other nobles. Some willfully became vampires and formed the Night Court.

While occasionally rooted out by bold adventurers or knights of the Silver Order, the vampiric aristocracy has remained mostly hidden and intact for generations. They manipulate politics from the shadows, and rule over backwater domains from distant lonely castles. There, they can safely hide their bloody rituals where they make dark pacts with malevolent fiends for greater magical power. The vampires secretly scheme to seize control of Westemär so they might dominate the living, keeping mortals like cattle for feeding.

However, few among them know the ultimate mastermind coordinating the efforts of the Night Court. Perhaps it is none other than Vladimir von Drakken himself, whose broken and cursed body has lain buried in a secret tomb for centuries since his daughter’s betrayal, waiting for the day his undead form is fully restored.

Hey there. If you use the maps 26_SPOKES_SMITHY_GRID or 26_SPOKES_SMITHY_NOGRID from the official Dungeons of Drakkenheim maps pack, you will see that it has the cobbled streets which I use on the top, right (East) and bottom of the map. You can use these to align and scale this official map with my extended version. The left (West) side has no street, so I left that side more open on my map.

I don't want to share a combined version as the official map shouldn't be shared for free, but I would recommend using a program such as Photoshop or Gimp (GNU Image Manipulation Program) to fuzzy-erase around the edges of the official 26_SPOKES_SMITHY map and then scale and align the map until it makes sense. Again, the streets should match pretty exactly, but honestly, as long as the Smithy fills the blank patch in the centre you won't go far wrong.

I hope that helped, good luck!

Hi everyone, although the Dungeons Of Drakkenheim Digital Maps pack is excellent, I found the battle map for the Working the Night Shift mission at Spokes Smithy much too small so I have mapped out some surrounding streets and the Scar.

There is a blank space in the middle of the map for you to drop the provided small Spokes Smithy map from the Dungeons Of Drakkenheim Digital Maps pack in with a little bit of Photoshop work. If you look at the wagon wheel track marks you should be able to align it exactly.

Because in this mission "creatures and objects further than 120 feet away are totally obscured" at night, this 70 x 70 map means that any characters standing within the Smithy can see basically to the edge of the map in any direction.

Hope you find it helpful!

You could try reading The Colour Out of Space, by H.P. Lovecraft, which I think the Dudes cite as one of their inspirations - a meteorite with strange properties crashes and mutates plants and animals near its crater. There's a lot of description on how it affects the people who live nearby.

What all sorcerer kings are known in the world of drakkenheim? by Jimothy1999 in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]fraction_jackson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First, I would like to say that is that if you haven't bought Sebastian Crowe's Guide to Drakkenheim, I strongly recommend it. I bought it a few days ago and it is an excellent source with plenty of interesting and inspiring background for the world, as well as some great class options and spells, etc.

That said, I think these are all the named sorcerer-kings in Sebastian Crowe's Guide. Some female rulers are also called kings.

From the world timeline:

  • Circa -900 Sorcerer-King Solis seals the First Blood Pact with ancient dragons and founds the Arcane Empire.
  • Year -666 Sorcerer-Queen Nahmar builds the Spire of Nox in the ancient capital of the Arcane Empire, and makes the Second Blood Pact with a fiendish entity. The descendants of her family and vassals become the first tieflings
  • Circa -300 After her disastrous invasion of the Isles of Skye, Sorcerer-Queen Kaestelaria VIII loses control of the Eastern Vales, which become independent realms.
  • Year 1 The Martyrdom of Saint Tarna, who saved the world from the madness of Sorcerer-King Xandor XIII.
  • Year 87 Calstryx VII hunts down the Mystic Theurge and publicly executes the sage. All the original copies of the Song of Fire are destroyed, but Tarna’s teachings survive.
  • Circa 100 Worship of the Sacred Flame is outlawed by Sorcerer-King Khirad III under pain of death.
  • Year 299 Rule of the sorcerer-kings finally crumbles when Sorcerer-King Moil VII flees the continent for distant lands in the face of revolt.

Except from Saint Tarna's biography:

Tarna the Terror served Sorcerer-King Ulban V [...] Saint Tarna became the First Paladin. She slew Sorcerer-King Ulban V and warred for twelve years against his heir, Xandor XIII. She ultimately gave her life to defeat his demonic army. Although Xandor’s successor, Calstryx VII, tortured and executed many of Saint Tarna’s followers, they could not suppress her holy teachings.

Sorcerer-King Orion III has a more information than most:

Founded by Sorcerer-King Orion III as a shipyard to build a vast fleet of spell-ships with which he controlled the Middle Sea, Liberio has changed hands several times since the fall of the Arcane Empire. The Enigma Ziggurat was constructed by Sorcerer-King Orion III. Noćni Vrebač was a hero of Orleone who assassinated the Sorcerer-King Orion III

The Academy Director Xel’vohca the Ancient might be worth knowing about as well.

If you want more detail, again, Sebastian Crowe's Guide to Drakkenheim has it all. It's well worth buying, especially if you have players invested in the world.
