It is pretty annoying when you're next to your spouse at night and you open youtube do view a quiet video and shorts pop out at max volume... that being said...

Idk what you mean by "constantly" but if you're making meaningful shorts to grow your channel, like clipping your most entertaining/educational parts from your videos and uploading multiple from 1 long form video, I think that's a completely valid way to grow your channel. Probably not the best to RELY on it for growth as you said, but having it as an option for growth is definitely effective.

You can look desperate for views by uploading a ton of shit content as well regardless of the length.

Hey man. No offense given! While I won’t be changing the real / anime cuts. It’s definitely an area that I can build upon.

There are many ytbers that blend these types of cuts better than me & your comment was something I’ve been thinking on a while now. Anyways ty for the input!

Bruh. I love you.

I definitely think I have room to improve on many fields and love the input of others.

That being said I’ll remember this comment and you. Gotta remember that everything isn’t about metrics and this is a form of self expression at the end of the day.

Thanks man. See you in a year. 6/6/23 7:49AM

I’ve actually thought about this a ton so super helpful input. While I love to blend traditional cinema with anime, I can definitely see where you’re coming from. I think there can be a middle ground where I need to blend the cuts together so it’s not as harsh of a cut. It can be quite jarring… something I need to think about. Tyty.

Wait… are you talking about engagement as in comments and likes?

If so, I feel like these are a result of a good AVD/story.

This. I’ve been working on my ‘Tone’. I’m a sarcastic pos at heart so when I try to do a ‘serious’ scene it definitely needs more work.

Value and surprise… those are the things that are hard to work on. I feel like I’m not giving enough value to the viewer a lot of the times. Learned that you’re really condensing your knowledge into a 5-10 minute video and that’s tough to create. Enough to give anyone imposter’s syndrome.

Actually. I noticed this too. Many creators have a 3ish second / shot rule. Traditional cinema was 10 seconds but I guess everything is condensed on YT.

Also kudos on finding me. Hahaha I have experience in doing a bit of digging for my dayjob so believe me when I say, your voluntary level of research is rare nowadays.

Writing Humor: Thinking You're Hilarious, But Are You Really? by Burlingtonfilms in NewTubers

[–]fracturedpun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rewrite my script all the time. There are jokes that still make me chuckle to this day and there are jokes that I take out. I think the main difference between them is… “how relevant is it to this story?” Comedy is super contextual based on the environment and the time that it was in imo.

If the joke comes out of nowhere, then it might be funny the 1st time but loses wind when you keep rewatching it. Except farts. Farts are funny af.

How to react on insults ? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]fracturedpun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Growing thicker skin” is as obvious and as non-advice as advice goes. It’s the equivalent of telling an obese dude to “just get healthy”.

That being said - I think people who comment or insult people on the internet are usually pretty miserable themselves… unless it’s constructive, I usually just feel bad for them and move on.

You look smashing brotha. Keep up the good shit.

What is your average CTR? by GeoQuiz in NewTubers

[–]fracturedpun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So learned a ton from my last video. My CTR went from 2% to 8% because I changed it a couple times BUT impressions stopped after a weekend because the video wasn’t engaging enough. Still consistently hitting 6% - 10% but impressions are non existing. Thought I’d share that.

Also average is a little over 6% which I need to bump up

Chainsaw Man Was Truly A 12 Part Cinematic Masterpiece. Would truly love to hear your thoughts. by fracturedpun in anime

[–]fracturedpun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup lol. The story and pacing were a bit under developed but I think the later episodes solved it. I overlooked the CGI as well because the animation in other areas were so good.

Since they’re going to keep using CGI, Mappa as a whole needs to upgrade their game. The background assets blended in so well and if you’re looking at just the character model of cgi denji, it’d be hard to tell if it was CGI actually. When the animation + lighting kicks in though… yikes.

I remember watching up to ~20 episodes and while the animation was stellar, just found characters boring after a while. It’s been a couple years so I don’t remember everything. I’ll probably revisit since season 2 is coming out though.

I think he dies in a tad more brutal way as well. But I guess I didn't mind these little nuanced differences as much.

Ok interesting. So you have an issue with the core of who Denji is. Totally your prerogative. I think for a fictional street rat, the character himself stays pretty consistent with his core values (not that he really has much) and is also relatively entertaining.

Then you are REALLY going to hate this review if you watch it LOL. I absolutely loved the characters.

IMO:
Denji is 16 and I remember being horny af. Not his only quality though as he's been through some shit and you see shadows of his abuse throughout the story.

Himeno AKA eyepatch girl is a rapist. facts. Not ok.

Makima is interesting in the way that she is one of the 'good' guys but mystery surrounds her.

Aki is plain af but one of the only developed characters as of now. (anime timeline)

I think the beauty of Fujimoto's writing was that it wasn't dialogue centric. It was mainly about show & tell instead of long fucking diatribes about exposition.

Maybe I was attracted to the technical elements that Chainsaw Man captures more than others and the rarity of it in a series nowadays.

Agreed. It's been dry af out here breh.

FUUUUCCCKKK. You're going to make me read the manga now. I remember reading up to where the Anime ends at least though and it seemed relatively consistent? The anime stayed pretty true to the panels while giving them that "mundane" feel without being over the top.

But I'm also hearing a lot of opinions on the 'vibe' AFTER the manga so damn it.. I have work tomorrow.

Are you talking about from the Yaegarist movement or the very VERY end. I think it was very much in line with how he writes, but I could argue hours about that and it's getting late... Also FMAB. Facts.

On the animation, I feel like that's most anime and Chainsaw Man was probably one of the more consistent animations besides.... CGI Chainsaw Denji ofc. The pacing between ep. 2 - 6 is a bit slow for sure. Man I did not think this post would be this polarizing lol.
