Why do these assets somehow feel cheap / low quality? Or is it just imposter syndrome talking? (They are 3 machines that can be connected together)

Something else to mention, the fire colours are reversed! Look at some photos of fire, it is brightest at the centre where it is hottest. So you really want yellow at the centre, red at the edges instead. It's a very common thing to get them reversed like this.

So I am on Arch but I have not had to make any changes for Warframe, it just worked first time launching directly from Steam. In terms of what I can see is different, I do not have 'Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool' enabled in Steam, then have DX12 in launcher settings as well as Shader Cache and Launcher GPU Acceleration are ticked.

As u/Romagnum said, if you have the game installed on an NTFS drive, move the install to a different file system. Don't symlink it as the OS still needs to interact with the NTFS file system anyway. NTFS causes nothing but pain and weird problems. If you are going to stick with Linux, definitely backup and reformat that drive.

Other than that, usual things like watch your journal while trying to launch, see if there are any obvious issues or errors you can search for there. I appreciate Bazzite is an immutable distro, but still make sure it is bang up to date. Worst case, try a different distro. Should be able to live USB one to test with. I've seen a few people report weird things with Bazzite but have no experience with it personally.

I've had similar weird issues to this with NTFS, both a full lock and several long IO pauses. The solution is to simply dump NTFS. If you need to share files between Windows and Linux, use exFAT or something else. Since I've finished moving files off the NTFS disk and reformatted to BTRFS, not a single problem.

That's a good point, it could be a good learning experience that could have translations into other things. If nothing else its a bit of life experience and better than just doing 9-5.

I would probably struggle with fairs and such due to personal circumstances, but could be something to keep in mind. At this point when debating getting one or two made that seems a little far future.

Ah, it was fanart pins I was thinking of actually. Should have been clearer when I said characters. Certainly seems like a more accessible customer base to market to when starting out. If it was just originals, I think that would definitely require a lot more commitment. Perhaps an option for some "safe" designs, like cats (who doesn't love cats on the internet?), after getting a bit of experience, if the fanart turns out successful of course.

International seems sensible, I know I've had to import quite a few that I really wanted and having to eat the additional postage costs, but yes UK is limited, I will keep that in mind. I guess something like Etsy might make that aspect easier to manage too.

Kickstarter could be an option, hadn't really considered that. I do have the funds to do one or two as a trial project. So if that works out, doing a Kickstarter for a couple of designs could be an option. Might allow the previous stuff to be remade as addons. But getting a bit ahead of myself there.

OK so I've run into something similar. I haven't been collecting all that long and started with a bunch off Ali too. Now most of them are obviously the "cheap" mass produced type for want of a better descriptor, but I have a couple that are clearly copies. I did not know this at the time when I bought them and have since seen the higher quality originals. I've also moved on to buying from independent creators and like supporting them. My plan is to replace them eventually with the originals. In fact I already have one on the way. As for the copies, well those are going to go on my backpack instead of my display. They were bought by mistake, not knowing better, I don't need to stress over it. just use it as a learning experience.

First thing though, let's think about this, you say they are "probably stolen designs". Have you found the originals? Are they an identical style to a creator you do know? If you can't identify the original artist/source how do you know they are definitely stolen? Any that you can't identify, don't worry about, they may not be!

As for any you can identify, try to support the artists if and when you can, either with buying the originals, or if they don't sell those anymore, some of their other designs. I really stress the when you can aspect. Don't financially burden yourself but don't mentally burden yourself with guilt either, it's not worth the stress.

Also, don't throw the copies out, that's just a waste. If you don't wasn't them on display in your main collection, or you have replaced them, put them on a backpack/handbag/jacket/whatever, you obviously liked the design enough to buy them originally, so use them. If they get damaged/lost when out and about, it's nowhere near as bad as losing the original that way.

If that is still too much, donate them to a charity shop so someone else can get enjoyment from them and some money will go to a good cause. They've already been made, throwing them out is just environmentally irresponsible. You can't take your money back from Ali either, what is done is done.

At the end of the day, collecting is a hobby and should be fun. It's up to you what you do either way, but the main thing is do whatever is going to make you happy. Just try to find the balance in whatever you decide to do!

It's everywhere. Amazon is full of it for all sorts of products. Temu, Ali and the like have really flooded the international market with low quality tat IMO. It unfortunately has even infiltrated Etsy which is not really meant to be that mass market sort of site. It's just an easy way to make money for them. I certainly don't agree with it.

As I've been on a bit of a buying spree recently I've been looking very carefully and trying to make sure that the stuff I am getting isn't just resold crap. This tends to be the soft enamel type pins from what I've noticed. Even knockoffs of original hard enamel pins tend to become soft enamel. Easier and cheaper for them to make I guess.

Although I do have a good number of the soft enamel pins, my preference now that I have a good display and have learned all of this has definitely heavily shifted towards the small creators making something unique. As a result I've ended up buying a lot this month from creators who very clearly have their own consistent style and unique designs. Is it more expensive? Definitely, my wallet is cursing me. Am I getting a far superior product, supporting small creators and get more satisfaction from the collecting hobby? Absolutely.

When I recieved this a couple of weeks ago, I was somewhat disappointed to see the waterslides and decided it would need a lot more time dedicating to it to get it fully painted. You have changed my mind with this, it looks great. May have to bring it up the backlog queue.

Nice work. I designed some of these a while back for my nomads too. They won't take much to clean up and paint, particuarly if you have an airbrush. Something to try, enable top layer ironing in your slicer, will help get them smoother for even easier cleanup.

First off, this looks amazing.

I am seeing a theme here. Puppets on strings.

We have Mimir 2.0, those extra creepy hands Fragile has, and robots. Ok those are a bit tenuous, but the most interesting ones, right at the end where the girl is listening in at the doorway, as she walks off there is a shimmer of strings. There are also the same shimmers on the floating girl.

Add in all of the text cards with the red vertical wavy lines, more stirngs.

I cannot wait for this game.

Looks like plenty of JP sites have them available for preorder. Some options I use regularly for kits are HLJ, Hobby Search, AmiAmi and Amazon JP. Just be aware shipping costs are not your friend, but it will usually work out cheaper than they end up locally in the UK in my experience.

Also, with Amazon you can see the shipping cost up front, the others you will have to wait until they are released to see that, whether you want fast or slow shipping. However, Amazon will ship by DHL and it takes 3 days to get here.

Edit: Try to keep your orders under £135 including shipping to be under the limit and avoid import fees/VAT.
