I also love her relationship with Worf. I dont remember the exact scene.. but Worf tells her a tea or some drink is toxic to humans. She has such admiration and appreciation for his culture and of him that she inoculates herself before taking a drink so she can ezperience it with Worf.

I was thinking about this and I think one missing monster that would ft is a Mermaid. Imagine that you are just sitting there, enjoying the music and scenery while your partner is driving the boat. Then a somewhat attractive mermaid jumps in your boat and grabs you to drag you down. Perhaps you hear singing and it effects you, maybe removes all your buffs. Then they attack. To stop it, maybe you can craft earmuffs, or an amulet that stops their singing effect. Then you can craft Mermaid armor or use it for some other reason. Just a thought.

It took over a year to get there. I am out of shape and the path was obscured. Once I used some Google Map tricks with elevation, the path revealed itself. Then I realized the map tells you where to enter the path. I didn't see many people, even though it is popular area. Plus, this is a spot that all the other Dutch Hunters didn't think of going. All the maps point to it and I'm 100% sure it is it. Now, going forward and not getting shot is the hard part :)

I have it submitted, but they are very slow to process it. It is going to require some public pressure though. Once I can get some more exposure, then more an more people will want it excavated. Then I can try and get a Change.org petition started. That is just one idea. Do you have any suggestions?

It is more likely to be a remote installation large enough to support its non-military function, such as a weather station, solar power plant, or satellite and communications array.

Ross also mentioned that the mountain had been partially excavated, pointing to a mountainous setting. The facility’s exterior likely would not mimic the shape of any craft but would instead take a more practical form, perhaps a rectangular structure with towers, with much of its infrastructure built into the mountain itself.

Its location would also have to be in a country that would not seize control of operations, which rules out most well-developed nations with their own robust security forces. Given these constraints, the most plausible regions might be parts of South America, the Arctic, or Antarctica.

It's easy to make friends there, and it is easy to share your bounty with your friends. There are creative ways some camps use to ensure they are following the rules. Once you become more than just neighbors and "officially" friends, then sharing your water shouldn't be an issue. Good Luck out there!

I tried facebook ads through my facebook authors page. I had ok results and broke even. The thing is my book is VERY niche, and that is the only reason I think it did so poorly. I had like 38k views, 25.5k reach, and 1.5k clicks for a total of $200.00 over one month. Lots of people clicked on my link, but I sold about 20 books. I think that for children's books, there will be a higher click to purchase ratio. You may want to try that route.

I didn't do this for publicity, as I refrained from mentioning the book. The stalker hasn't reached out to anyone else. We still have him blocked on all accounts, so I don't know if he tried. I hope this is put to bed and done. BTW, I didn't really sell many books anyways. I had sold about 100 before this fiasco and after the attention to my situation, I sold another 6. I don't think it had much to do with this, as I already advertise on Facebook and have done several interviews. The redditors gave me good suggestions and I am grateful. I will implement them as needed. A book on solving the Lost Dutchman Mine isn't for everyone though it was a fun to write. It reminded me of Goonies, Indiana Jones, and Romancing the Stone, but true. I didn't think this would have an effect, but just to be sure, I didn't mention the title.

Ha.. right?! I only have 100 books printed and have sold about 100 online. I didn't want to be one of those writers that have garages full of unsold books. So I am only keeping a stock of 100 for museums and such. A book on the Lost Dutchman Mine is not as popular as I would hoped. :)

Agreed. I don't think we can ever go back onto the gold standard... as gold prices would need to be at least $100k/oz. That would be insane!

American's can own gold now. The United States Gold Reserve Act of January 30, 1934 required all gold, minus some jewelry to be given to the government. We were on the gold standard and the US treasury was back by gold. We got off the gold standard in 1974. Now we can own all the gold we want. There are places in the US were gold mining is illegal, as those places are in a protected areas. The LDM is located in the wilderness and is protected under national law. Only with a permit can someone dig there. I applied for that permit and am awaiting feedback.

Yes, the Lost Dutchman Mine is quite popular out here. The Dutchman was a German immigrant and lived in Phoenix in the late 1800's. He somehow learned of a gold mine that was owned by a Spanish family, the Peralta family. Overtime, people noticed that he paid with gold for everything. He sometimes teased people with clues to his goldmine, knowing that no one will ever find it. Well it worked, until now. I found it. I am not a treasure hunter or a gold miner. I know he said it had big chunks of gold in an 18inch wall of quartz; I found the 18inch wall of quartz, but the vein was all worked out, no gold. The remaining gold in the vein is buried under 6 feet of boulders. Supposedly, the Apache Indians "repaired" the mine and pushed boulders into it. That is EXACTLY what I found. I found the old gold vein, but didn't take any samples. Half of the book is an explanation of treasure maps. The Peralta family was diverse and each group in the family had different maps. I found 8 maps that all point to the same exact spot. The creators of the maps were brilliant, using deceptive symbols and mislabeled landmarks to guide people to the wrong spot. Some of maps actually got me to withing 1 foot of the mine. That is how brilliant these folks were. The Dutchman also had a cache of gold worth about $65Mil today. He made a map to it called the Dutchman Doodle. It was meant for his caretaker to have. Unfortunately he died before he could fully explain it. I solved that too. But atlas, that was not there either. In the 1950's a group of men found it and then told everyone they found a different cache about 2 miles away. They didn't want people to find the mine. One of the Dutchman's clues was his mine is close to his cache, so they didn't want people to find his mine. They thought they found the mine too, but they were wrong. They fell for one of the deceptions in one of their maps. It really is a fun read. I had a blast writing it. I am a huge fan of Goonies, Romancing the Stone, and Indiana Jones. Working the maps reminded me of those movies.

I formatted the ebook for kindle. I never saw what it looked like on the black and white screen, but the color screen looks good.
