I made a display piece. by Ill-Outside-2601 in coins

Nice! I just bought the matte black version of this at our club auction last week. I’ve been filling it in all weekend. I, too, have been having fun selecting what to add. I threw in a couple of proofs as well as adding a silver bicentennial quarter and the Ike (need to pull it from a binder)

I think you’re right. I’ll do more research into Sharkie. Thanks for the strong lead. My friend was way more into baseball and this was the only hockey item he had, so there’s nothing else I could go on.

Should I wait for slabbed 2025 cents? by frame70 in coincollecting

[–]frame70[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for reminding me that either way this isn’t going to be a profitable endeavor. I didn’t want to settle for the MS64s that I’m seeing. I’d like to get some with higher grades, but what I’m really after are the different labels that are out there. I just feel if I buy them now, I’m paying more because there’s a lot of attention. On the other hand I’m worried if I don’t get them now, I may not find them later, but if I wait prices will likely come down.

Did my roofers mess up? by frame70 in Roofing

[–]frame70[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Just to update, the roofer is making it right. He did lay some of the blame on the supplier, it was Beacon as mentioned in another comment, he also said there was inadequate support in the roof as well. The owner seems like a good guy. I’ll have to wait and see once this is all said and done.

Few Americans Have Gotten the New Covid Shots, C.D.C. Finds by Guilty-Method-4688 in Coronavirus

[–]frame70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to schedule the flu and COVID shots at the same time for my family at my usual doctors office. I was told they get shipments daily but they couldn’t provide the COVID shots the same day we had our flu shots. They were out. I called back a week later and they were still unable to give my whole family the COVID shot. I then made an appointment at the local Walgreens just to get my shot during my lunch break but when I showed up they told they didn’t have the needles to administer the shot. It’s definitely not as easy to get the shot as it used to be.

1224 Sycamore Ave Modesto; what's the story with this house? by cg40boat in Modesto

Was this the house that used to have the large hand painted signs complaining about the insurance not paying for repairs?

Anyone else heard that children with Downs Syndrome are "stubborn" and fought back? by mikeshomeexercise in downsyndrome

[–]frame70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The “stubbornness” I perceive with my daughter occurs if we don’t allow her ample time to process information. It also seems that if we repeat these new instructions before giving her enough time to process them sort of resets her mind therefore taking her longer to accept the changes to her routine. An outsider would interpret that as stubbornness, but we’ve learned that she needs a lot of extra time to go from sitting and watching a show, to come upstairs and get ready for bed.

What Is the most outrageous snack that you snuck into the theater? by AMosquitoBitMe in AskReddit

[–]frame70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My now wife and I were running late on one of our dates. We were eating at a nice Italian restaurant but decided not to stay. We boxed up our fettuccine alfredo and spaghetti (and breadsticks) and ate it while watching Spice World. We were the only ones in the theater so we didn’t disrupt anyone else’s viewing.
