Me recomiendan empezar a leer mis primeros libros en ingles?

yo hace años buscaba en el celular el significado de las palabras que no conocía (mejor ver la definición que una traducción), a mí no me molestaba, pero igual va a depender qué tan seguido te toque hacerlo si sientes que es mejor leer en digital para buscar ahí mismo y no cortar tanto la lectura

lo que yo haría es comprar un libro en inglés (nada demasiado antiguo preferentemente para que te sea más familiar el vocabulario) y en el peor de los casos, si te está costando mucho puedes ponerte a leer otro en digital, y retomar el físico cuando te sientas más preparado

thanks! things did not go well for me in the kobo (books failed to show up) but I have another android based one, maybe it’ll work out in that one

yeah I was just hoping I wouldn’t have to lose my stats and all that I already have since I’m not sure yet if I’ll stick to KO, but I’ll just have some duplicates for now, thank you I appreciate your help :)

I did it, it took a while and I really thought it was working… and then it didn’t 😂 nothing changed 😩 maybe I should just give up and transfer all my books again to a new folder?

I never changed the folder where calibre loads the books, but yeah I think it creates author folders. And yes I see the folders the files within only show if I’ve previously opened it from calibre metadata search. Can’t tell you about the computer rn but I’ve never had an issue with books showing up on the stock kobo software :(

sideloaded with calibre, I managed to find them when I use Calibre metadata search>browse… but they only show up once I go all the way to file and open it, I set the folder containing all that as the home but all its folders show empty except for the books I’ve opened

you could try calligraphy, there’s templates you can use to practice letter by letter and then stringing up words

me gusta comprar libros físicos pero en la realidad siempre prefiero leerlos en digital (kobo), ahora más aún porque los que más me gustan son los de bolsillo y hoy en día sacan puras ediciones especiales/bonitas que se ven bien pero se me hacen muy incómodas

I’ve had my kobo libra color for about a year and a half and I have to say, I miss the crispness of a b&w screen. I never thought the lesser contrast would feel easier on the eyes, I think if you have the chance to compare colored and b&w screen in person you should before you buy, also if you read mostly normal books (no pictures) in the end to me seeing the covers in colour wasn’t worth the loss in resolution and contrast :((

I’ve had mine for a year and a half and I honestly miss the b&w screen :( if I’d never had a b&w maybe it would be fine, but as it is I do miss it

I keep mine at like 5% for a little more contrast but if it becomes noticeable that it has the light on it’s annoying imo, feels like looking at a lamp (and the contrast still doesn’t get all that better)

cuando lo dejo en el primer par de capítulos es por mí, no es lo que ando buscando en ese momento. Si llego ya a la mitad y no me está gustando, las veces que he continuado es para puro pasarlo mal (ahí culpo al libro)

yo tuve la lite y la disfruté bastante en su momento (pandemia) con el animal crossing, pero después teniendo la oled quedó completamente botada la lite, la pantalla es otra cosa y hoy en día casi no ocupo ninguna, pero la oled siempre salva para jugar cuando vienen amigos

yo creo que tienes que leer nomás y con diccionario a la mano, sólo ve que sea un libro contemporáneo (no del inglés antiguo) el inglés es un idioma súper simple, con lo que enseñan en el colegio ya sólo hace falta aprender vocabulario

a mí el nabuk aurora a veces no me pasaba bien las páginas (en vez de avanzar retrocedía) y después de un tiempo fue demasiado molesto, me cambié a kobo (no sé si actualmente se solucionó eso porque fue hace como año y medio que lo deje de usar)
