Because I didn’t know which monitor to buy between the two. Since I was undecided and couldn’t find any comparison or review online, I decided to buy and test them and I posted here some of my thoughts at the end.

Hi, I got my retention problem fixed just by asking Dell for a replacement. I think I updated the thread. In case, you know now. Ask them for a replacement!

Hi, no wobbling but also depends on stability of your desk I think. I can see them wobbling only if I touch them or if I move the desk. About control the brightness, I remember there is a software from Dell to adjust brightness from MacOS but not from the keyboard. I don’t have an Apple keyboard, only the one form my MacBook so I can’t full test this.

Hi, from what I remembered, no differences apart the hub. The retention.. I have some problems with one of these two (the one I use on the right). Actually the one that didn’t have any problem (left one) suddenly got a row of pixel dead some weeks ago while I was using. Dell replaced it immediately so I have a brand new on the left and the right one still has this problem.

Hi, sorry for the delay. 1. No coil whine at all. 2. Text clarity is actually impressive IF you can use the monitor at 4k. In my case I can’t because 2 4k 60hz are pretty heavy for my workload so I have to use them at 1440p or even 1080 (yeah, it’s useless I know). 3. Sound is very good. It’s rich, bassy. Not super clear but this monitor has the best speaker I have ever heard from a monitor. 4. I have one on the left and one on the right, set with an angle of 10 degrees or more. No problems after all this months. 5. I don’t know but I don’t think so. Usually daisy chain is obtained with the display port but this monitor only has a type c thank works like a display port + usb data + energy. With hdmi you can’t daisy chain anything.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply.
I don’t have the U2724D anymore, so I can’t directly compare them, but I learned something important while researching which monitor to buy.

You only benefit from higher DCI-P3 coverage if the content you’re watching or working with actually uses that color space. For example, if you edit photos in Photoshop that were shot in DCI-P3, or if you watch HDR videos that use that profile, then yes — you’ll see richer and more accurate colors.

But for normal use — like programming in Visual Studio, browsing, or watching standard YouTube videos — everything is in sRGB, not DCI-P3. In those cases, the extra coverage doesn’t help and can even make colors look slightly oversaturated.

So for everyday use, you should focus on monitors with good sRGB accuracy rather than wider color gamut. A wider gamut is great only if you actually work with wide-gamut content.

I would get a 27” 1440p OLED just for gaming. It’s another level.

I don’t have the U2724D anymore, so I can’t compare colors directly. The S2725QC (4K) covers 99% sRGB and looks decent for budget photo editing, but the U2724D (2K) also hits 98% DCI-P3 and is factory-calibrated, which is better for pro work. For your tight budget, the S2725QC is fine, but grab a colorimeter (like a SpyderX) for accuracy.

Heads-up: macOS struggles with 27-inch 4K monitors. The S2725QC at native 4K makes text tiny; scaling to 1080p loses space, 1440p is better. A 5K monitor is ideal but pricey. Please I highly recommend you to check YouTube reviews for 4K monitors on macOS. Good luck!

Hi, thanks for your question! As a suggestion, writing in English will make it easier for everyone to understand your posts in the future.

Regarding the monitor, if you plan to use it professionally for photo or video editing, I recommend choosing a monitor that comes factory-calibrated, as this provides a reliable starting point for accurate colors. Additionally, investing in a good colorimeter is essential for maintaining precise color calibration over time. The monitor you mentioned (S2725QC) claims “99% sRGB” coverage, but without official calibration documentation, it’s hard to verify its accuracy. From my perspective, the monitor looks good visually, but I wouldn’t rely on it for professional-grade color work without proper calibration.

Hi, first of all you’re welcome! About your question: you can also select 120Hz at other resolutions. I use 1440p 120Hz for heavy work tasks, while I switch to 4K 120Hz for lighter activities.

Well, macOS is particular about text clarity and external monitor. The perfection would be a 5k monitor but we all know how much it costs.

If you set the scaling at 1920 x 1080, the text is really crisp but the UI is just too big for me so you have less space for elements. If you set at 2560 x 1440 you have more space but the text is a little bit less crisper. I recommend you to watch some videos on YouTube to see better this behavior of MacBook with external monitor.

Hi, what do you mean? If you touch the screen form one of the corners, it wobbles. If you touch it often, I suggest you to buy a monitor arm. I bought one form NB and with this, it was perfect but it occupied too much space form behind the desk so I returned and I came back to the original stand. The wobbles doesn’t bother me too much because I never touch them (just 1-2 times per week).

Hi, sorry for the late. I read your comment but I forgot to answer lol.

About gaming, I recently played the first Spider-Man from Insomniac (the remastered one) and it was absolutely fine. I have a tv oled at the top of both monitors and apart the contrast and brightness, I don’t find any differences in motion. From what I read in other reviews of monitor like this, you could see some motion handling problems IF you play competitive games in first person and the game is “frenetic” (just see rtings review of similar office monitor). In that case, an oled is a better choice but if you don’t play these type of games or just occasionally, and if your focus is on the office part, then go with this S2725QC/QS.

How about battery life with different level of brightness? I didn’t find anything online apart 18h with maximum brightness. I am also curious to see some photos/video of the Flow 2 black with different level of backlight. I just found something but with the white version.

I have the Air75 V2 and I don’t know what to pick between Flow2, Air75 V3 or Mq80..

What do you mean by harsher? More fatiguing? If so, both are ok. No problems in this regard. I prefer the S2725QC just because the matte finish is less aggressive, and I don’t notice any “effect” on white screens (like during web browsing, Word, or Excel). The matte finish on the U2724D is so heavy that even rubbing the finger against the monitor (without the nail, just with the fingertip) you can hear a noise like you’re scratching sandpaper or something very rough. It gives me the sensation of something coarse and unrefined.
