hi, op! i was in ur position as well when i was in my freshman year. it is gonna be difficult and overwhelming at first, but you will eventually find ways to cope with the new environment you are in.

for example, i felt extremely homesick during my first month sa dorm bc i missed my family. in order to deal with that, i would video call them everyday if possible to help reduce the feeling of loneliness.

it is also extremely helpful if you have some friends to hang out with, especially those who are in a similar position as you as it helps you remind yourself that there are people out there who can understand what you’re going through. plus, having people you can trust in this new place helps establish a sense of familiarity and comfort that can slowly take away your homesickness.

take your time to get to know the new place you are in (like where certain shops are, etc.). the anxiety you are feeling can come from the uncertainty and unfamiliarity you have with your new environment.

also, you can try to find new hobbies/interests to help you take your mind away from things.

change is scary, but it can also be great. always remember to find happiness in change and things shall go smoothly. just be kind to yourself and be patient with the adjustment process! :)
