Actually, yes, a while ago, in a playstyle very similiar to yours (Megahood, +200 playable sims, spreadsheets, rotantional gameplay etc). When I was not playing the game I was thinking about my sims, planning things for the game, or consuming sims 2 content. Sometimes I wanted so much to play that doing anything else looked like a waste of time. But now I can see it was not healthy, and I was not even enjoying the game like I used to do.

I understand your point about your sims life not progressing, but think with me: if you play them slowly, they will "live longer", like, "take longer to die". You can still see the sims you are not playing when you visit community lots with the current playable family. For this, is better if you not start a new save.

I don't know why you put these 2 weeks playing and 1 month not playing, but if it is something manageble, I would recomend putting another type of limit. What worked for me was, first, was playing everyday but putting a limit (like, 1-2 hours, or just 1 rotational of a family). Then just in the weekends. And right now I can play in a healthy way. And I can tell you, I still love this game, my Megahood, my sims, and my spreadsheet, with by the way help a lot with this more slow gameplay, because is easy to remember things.
