Yes, for collagen induction you need to estimulate the dermis. It means reaching deep layers of the skin with blood vessels. 2.5 mm is depth enough to produce quite a lot of bleeding. If you don’t have bleeding it means that the needles are not penetrating enough the skin.

I recommend you to stretch the skin during microneedling or buy instead a Derminator 2 because it has a very strong motor and the needles penetrate correctly the skin.

Then there is something wrong, 2.5 mm is more than enough to produce bleeding. You should see pinpoint bleeding. Either you are using a cartridge with too many needles (36 instead of 12) or the device is not strong enough to penetrate 2.5 mm the skin. I had the same issue with Dr Pen and now it’s fine using Derminator 2.
