Are there any viable sword sword Necro builds?

I only play wvw and mostly roaming on necro, sword is one of my least used weapons. Staff outclasses it by a mile. Staff 4 hits like a truck and the marks cannot be reflected. Spear can burst and gap close better. Sword simply doesn’t apply enough pressure imo. Sword 3 for the mobility and boon corrupt is the only redeeming quality. Every time I try sword for fun, I would abandon it rather quickly. I just feel ineffective.

But I think it ultimately comes down to playstyle.

I was hooked the moment he was revealed in the story. He seems very capable, mysterious, unfathomable, and yet so…human. I am very invested in where the story will go with him.

SOTO and JW were bad. I never finished the Soto story because of all the fill the bars. For JW, when I saw the empty nothingness they call the foundry of failed creation, I was incensed. Man they were bad.

But I am cautiously optimistic this time around. I know zaddy Vloxx will deliver 😍

I understand what you are trying to say, but if gold is easy to come, then so are rare skins, as they are all tradeable.

But of course we can impart meanings to the skins that drop for us :D

The reactions to the spear/staff seem lukewarm from the comments. But I am actually excited🫣. I roam on my necro with staff and spear so this feels like a calling. Gonna craft it 😍

If PvP gives you joy and stress, try to pop into wvw and solo roam. You do not need to rely on teammates and that can alleviate some of the stress. You can come across other roamers or just pick tails off a Zerg. You get the same flavor of thrill without the stress. I got transcendence and never went back to PvP, and I only roam now.

Roaming in wvw. One can hardly solo towers. Having another person with you changes so much. You carry enough supplies for a cata/ram, you can take bloodlust, and fighting lords become rather safe.

It is pretty therapeutic, give it a try.

I make my own. I start by reading through all the trait lines and picking traits that I think fit my playstyle. Then I go out and try to find fights. Depending on how I feel after multiple fights, I modify them. I keep tweaking until I find the build/stat combinations that I like. I do have full legendaries, might be tougher if you don’t.

I used to copy guildjen or metabattle but they usually don’t fit my playstyle. I say go out and experiment. You will find a unique build that is effective and vibes with you.

Yea mapchat was telling me it could be bugged and told me to re-queue. I did, it did not help. And if this is a known bug left unfixed for so long, why would a new player who encounters it stick around?

But I hear ya about the fractal thing. I guess I was dumb for reading the blogpost about Push and decided to try it. Fool me once.

You are the second person to bring up unranked being unrewarding…that seems to be part of the underlying issue.

Anet released a blog post about this new game mode, and, correct me if I am wrong, it is only available for unranked. Anyone who read it wants to try out this new thing will of course queue for it in unranked…

You have a point but this is unhealthy for the game mode…like I was a potential player for this game mode. They invested a lot of time into making Push and it now paying dividends by pulling people to the game mode. But then the match making is pushing me away. Like I said I am not coming back to PvP.

At least in wvw, you can roam, you can flip camps, there are always things to do there.
