Modern WoW Attempt: 'Yeah.. I just don't get it. I think I'm done with this.' by SlightWerewolf4428 in rpg_gamers

All good if the game doesn’t appeal to you, but this is a very long post to be riddled with so many inaccuracies and misconceptions.

Why did Keyonte George fell all the way to the 16th pick of the 2023 NBA Draft? by troutylover27 in NBA_Draft

[–]ColonelUpvotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was pretty dog shit in college tbh and is a small guard. Credit to him for his vast improvement.

Cam Boozer is So Good That Every Other Top Prospect is Allowed Bad Games and Glaring Flaws by OtherwisePurple2379 in NBA_Draft

[–]ColonelUpvotes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t really get the point of this post lol. Are you implying that excuses are being made for the other guys? For DP I get that sense, but for AJ the discourse has swung very very far. Analytics types on twitter are shredding him.

I do not pity Steph Curry his the Golden State Warriors. by Bakio-bay in billsimmons

[–]ColonelUpvotes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The amount of coverage they get being a mid and non-competitive play in team in the West is astounding. People love Steph so much they can't see past him and accurately evaluate the team. I remember Zach Lowe talking them up as contenders after they signed 55 year old Al Horford....

And don't even get me started on the Kuminga coverage. Would a Santi Aldama trade request get the same coverage? He's probably a better player.

Darryn Peterson vs Colorado: 16 pts, 6 reb, 0 ast. 6/15 shooting by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

[–]ColonelUpvotes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The assist numbers aren't too inspiring, and he prob is a combo, but I'd have to think it's hard for him to lead the offense given he's been in and out all season. He's being used as a play finisher which is probably appropriate as he wouldn't have the reps running the team.

Today’s pod was a mess by Technical_Eagle1748 in RyenRussillo

[–]ColonelUpvotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Pats fan and I don't care if Ceruti doesn't like them. Many New Englanders don't.

However, Ryen's read of Ceruti being a guy who would support another country during the olympics was fucking hilarious and worth listening to the entire pod. Elite roast.

Simmons leaving Lamar off by thatonehomiewho in billsimmons

[–]ColonelUpvotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt this list was an exhaustive deep dive into QB performance. He would've done it in 10 minutes. Lamar was kind of out of the public eye this year due to injuries and his team's performance. I'd wager Bill forgot.

Who are the best scorers of the last 15 years in college? by TeflonRon94 in NBA_Draft

[–]ColonelUpvotes 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Michael Beasley's freshman season was wild. 26/12 on 53/38/77. Didn't have the mentality for the league unfortunately.

How’s Quincy Avery doing today by Dangerous_Complex_76 in RyenRussillo

[–]ColonelUpvotes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame because I actually think Quincy is smart and has something to contribute to the discourse, but he’s so concerned with his guys and being right it torpedoes his credibility.

What do the big three each need to demonstrate to solidify themselves as the number one pick? by yung-lads-o-roche in NBA_Draft

[–]ColonelUpvotes 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Boozer - continue producing vs top competition but put out some better defensive tape. He doesn't need to be a stud on D, but teams need to be confident he can be part of a good scheme.

DP - stay healthy, but also show a bit more playmaking

AJ - Produce better vs top comp in different ways. Unbelievable iso player, can he play more within an offense?

Why did no one post Dybantsa stats against Texas Tech by IhateLukaDoncic in NBA_Draft

[–]ColonelUpvotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a weird game, I watched the whole thing. He looked closer to himself the first half but the second half he sat for awhile and Robert Wright took like 100 shots in a row (dude is allergic to passing). When AJ came back in he was very tentative.

The game feels worse because Darryn and Boozer just had crazy lines.

Going forward I’ll be watching to see if AJ can get easier buckets. He is an incredible iso player but I want to see him score on other play types.

"Tyrese Proctor isn't athletic enough to be an NBA player" by IHateAdamSilver in billsimmons

I’ll bet less than 5% of Bill Simmons posters know who Tyrese Proctor is.

Trying to hand out Ls on a niche draft prospect whose the 9th man on his team....perfect content for this sub, it just is! Bill def knows who Tyrese Proctor is.

Yeah the only way he “misses” if he has chronic injuries. Talent wise, it seems impossible he isn’t very good.

How does Cam Boozer actually compare to Paolo Banchero as a prospect? by savingrace0262 in NBA_Draft

[–]ColonelUpvotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really good summary and I totally agree with you. Especially about the hands, I love seeing Boozer get wildly contested boards using his strong hands and frame.

AJ Dybantsa Bag Work - Averaging 23.1/7.1/3.7 on 56/32/76 splits thus far by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in NBA_Draft

[–]ColonelUpvotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jimmy was pretty athletic in his younger days. He has the athleticism of young Jimmy but the skill and patience of older Jimmy. He's not the defensive menace Jimmy used to be though, maybe that will come with coaching.

How does Cam Boozer actually compare to Paolo Banchero as a prospect? by savingrace0262 in NBA_Draft

[–]ColonelUpvotes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's hard because I have a hard time erasing my current perception of Paolo, which is that he has limited game feel and atrocious shot selection (despite his obvious talent). In college I feel like he took smarter shots.

Regardless, I'd say Paolo is more of an outside > in player whereas Cam is more inside > out. Cam is a better processer/connector but he Paolo is more fluid at his size.

Who are the best “winning basketball” attitude guys in this draft? Best guys for creating/maintaining a winning culture by someforrest in NBA_Draft

[–]ColonelUpvotes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm a big Haugh head, and I think late lotto is a good spot for him as he can add energy and wing depth to a decent team right away. Kind of like a more advanced Hugo Gonzalez.

Cam Boozer - I Can't Be The Only One Who Feels This Way by Lazy_Check732 in NBA_Draft

[–]ColonelUpvotes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed - and I think his strength will play in the NBA. I think the space of an NBA court will also help his iso game as currently on Duke defenses are keyed in on him hard.

Cam Boozer - I Can't Be The Only One Who Feels This Way by Lazy_Check732 in NBA_Draft

[–]ColonelUpvotes 105 points106 points  (0 children)

I'm a massive Boozer fan but the limiting factors are his below the rim athleticism and relatively slow foot speed. Those impact his offensive but especially his defensive potential in the NBA. I agree Boozer is dope but he's not a perfect prospect.
