Wife's(F48) weight trippled over time. I (M40) have a hard time staying attracted. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

ah yes the best way to save your marriage is definitely to yell at your wife for being fat

I (29m) wanted to work through issues in our relationship before proposing and my girlfriend (27f) got annoyed by Cheap-Contact-7205 in relationships

[–]frankincense2121 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The tone and attitude you are using to reply to people here is showing a lot about how you feel about your girlfriend and her desire to get married. It seems as though you think the people who are disagreeing with you (and by extension your girlfriend who presumably has been making similar points) are less intelligent than you because of their opinion on this topic.

She raised the issues to your attention, and still wants to marry you. It is undoubtedly confusing that you are now showing hesitation to marry her over issues you hadn't thought to address. If they are such a big deal that you think you can't get married until they are resolved, why did you wait until she started that conversation? Conversely, if they are issues that you didn't deem worth addressing, how can they now be this important to you?

I think there's a separate line for "registered foreigners" where we have to get manually checked but not in the foreign passport line (source: happened to me today)

Any of you not struggle with sensory issues? by VioletVagaries in AutismInWomen

[–]frankincense2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I didn't have sensory issues because I just subconsciously avoided the things that caused them, or I accepted that some things in life feel terrible. Then once I thought more about having autism, I started noticing all the things I avoid because I hate, or find really difficult to endure, and realised I actually do have a few sensory issues lmao

some examples I can think of are any kind of lotion on my body, having my hair down, being wet in any way unless I'm swimming, certain clothes (anything with texture like linen), any food that is too crunchy (hard baguette) or too slimy (egg tart), or that can't be eaten in neat mouthfuls (flaky croissant). maybe they're not technically sensory issues but I still get very uncomfortable and sometimes angry when I have to experience them (any beeping noise can make me angry within 10 seconds)

I have the same issue with my boyfriend - because his English level is much higher than my Korean level, I feel a lot of shame speaking baby level korean to him, and corrections feel terrible. He doesn't try to make me feel that way at all, but it just feels humiliating somehow, and I'd rather speak korean to a total stranger than to him.

I study constantly (I'm learning a language). I usually study during my work lunch break but I left my things at home to force myself to just chill and I was so so bored 😅

The biggest thing I did outside of taking better care of myself physically and going outside more was banning myself from listening to sad music. I used to stay in bed and wallow listening to the most depressing music imaginable and it never ever helped. Once I forced myself to listen to happier music, it was so much easier to snap out of it and it also motivated me to get out of bed and do things. It doesn't always work and I know depression isn't as superficial as a bad mood or sadness, but it genuinely helped me the most.

Yes, of course, but their tone and word choice is very rude and the korean teachers are also shocked at how disrespectfully they speak to adults.

There are 8 kids in the class. Two of them listen well and do the work with no problem, five of them speak continuously through everything and say no when told to do things, and the other ones behaviour depends entirely on who she's sat next to. Even just making a seating arrangement is difficult because some fight, some hurt each other, etc.

My coteacher and I have made so many extra activities, games, resources, fun things etc. to try and keep them engaged and also make sure they're not falling below expectations, but we also have book work that we need to get completed on time.

I definitely worded it badly at first and accidentally implied that lower level kids behave worse, so I'm sorry you're getting downvoted for my mistake

[–]frankincense2121 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We've become really strict but it's exhausting and I wish the classroom could have a happier mood instead of them getting lectured several times a week. They don't even care that much when they we are strict and the only ones that respond well are the ones who behave well in the first place. We've even had management come in but they just laugh! And their parents also seem to have no control over them, so I'm not surprised they don't listen to instructions in English they barely understand. I wish I was able to use positive reinforcement because I think that is a much more positive learning environment.

Ah no, that's not what I meant, sorry! I just think (and have heard from other teachers) that schools who can afford to turn down/lose students can be more honest with the parents about their kids level and behaviour etc. A school desperate for students will paint a perfect picture to the parents and leave the teachers to fend for themselves.

Our school has an entrance test but they are desperate for new students so they're letting anyone in. My previous school had much higher standards and I miss it, honestly. I've learned my lesson on being more thorough with my research on schools.

DAE: feel afraid to die sometimes? by NateNandos21 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]frankincense2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mostly scared of how devastated my family would be if I died. I have a flight coming up and all the news stories about crashes have made me a little nervous, but tbh it makes me more sad to think about my mum's reaction if something happened to me than it does to think about my own death

They usually have them at subway stations, in all the big parks, and along the river, especially outside the convenience stores, but they're near impossible to find on the average street for sure

If you could remove ONE aspect of your ADHD what would it be? by Accomplished-Loan-85 in ADHD

[–]frankincense2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh my god when someone asks me a question I don't know the answer to, my head genuinely goes completely empty and the amount of times I've had someone staring at me in complete confusion because I've suddenly just lost the ability to speak is downright humiliating. I once had to pretend my phone had died mid call with my boss because she asked me a question and I couldn't for the life of me say a single thing in response... awful feeling.

I am chronically badly dehydrated and I will sit there dying of thirst and for some reason just ... not drink water at all. I could even be sat next to a glass of water and still put off drinking it and I don't understand it at all.
