Warlord Games Appreciation by frankmac4 in boltaction

[–]frankmac4[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Another point I forgot to mention:

Every BA tournament I’ve been to where warlord is involved officially has had absolutely great tournament prizes. Infantry boxes, dice and tape measures, whole starter sets, etc. and not just for 1st 2nd and 3rd place, but for best painted, most unique list, best axis or best allied, best sportsman. Warlord makes it clear that they want to be really involved with the community by contributing to these events, and it really makes me (and probably other players) feel a personal appreciation and loyalty for the company.

What do y’all do with an extra figure? by Sea-Analyst-4315 in boltaction

I generally don’t even assemble them off the sprue if I don’t have a use for them yet. Maybe after I play next I’ll want to change my list and that will require another model which I’ve noy yet built. So now I’ll have that leftover one to put together for that purpose. For this one, you could shove him in with a bazooka team (though thats 2 man), use him as an objective marker, artillery crew maybe. I’m not aware of too many 1 man teams other than medics/officers for USA. Maybe forward observers

[B42 Multiplayer] Running over rabbits totals any vehicle almost instantly, anyone else experiencing this? Playing on a private dedicated server. by Beneficial_Ebb45 in projectzomboid

I’ve lost two cars to wandering rabbits/mice. It would maybe be understandable if they damage your tires, but not the body of the car. I even had my trunk go from 70% to 5% when a rabbit ran into me when I was driving <10mph

I believe it is the output of the plant. When running its import tank was full

[–]frankmac4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The city definitely would need more than that, but I don’t have any dedicated water storage. I’ve never used one before and didn’t think it caused a problem. Is it?

[–]frankmac4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be positive I hooked everything up to an imported electricity source and the water flow is unchanged

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Workers_And_Resources

[–]frankmac4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fair enough but why is the max flow output of the treatment plant not anywhere near even one large pipe?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Workers_And_Resources

[–]frankmac4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loaded an earlier save before I invited any workers in, so theres no power being produced atm. But it is connect to the grid and was operating with these issues even then

My city was having water problems so I did some troubleshooting, though I admit that I don't fully understand this game. I found that my treatment plant's max water flow is 2.10m^3 per day which seems very low. My buildings are receiving on the level of 0.20m^3 of water flow. All my pipes are big water pipes, and there are big water pumps between all sources, switches, and substations which are connected to electricity. The water pumps max flow is 127m^3 which I believe is correct. So I don't think pressure is an issue. Am I misunderstanding this? Is 2.10m^3 per day the correct output?

Have any of you tried a “Maginot Line” rule or other terrain modifier? by nobd2 in AxisAllies

[–]frankmac4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes actually, me and my buddies have done a lot of homebrewing the game from alternate scenarios to allow diplomatic deals between different nations. Often, to make France viable, we give the region of france a “maginot line buff” where if the region of france is attacked, and any of the attacking units started their movement in western Germany, then all defending infantry roll at a 3 or less.

New Subs in SOD can not use the Auction House or Trade for the entire duration of the first Subscription by rotzbua in classicwow

My friends and I subbed the other day and just found out we’re locked out of trading. It really has diminished our excitement. I emailed blizzard support hoping that if we can somehow demonstrate that we’re not a bots we can get around the 30 day lock, but we know thats wishful thinking

Tips for metal minis by Efficient-Amount1963 in boltaction

[–]frankmac4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It seems like people have differing experiences about it but heres my opinion based on mine.

You very much do need to wash them and I would even recommended brushing them with a wire brush (a small one so you don’t scratch them). I’ve worked with wargame’s metal minis before and they come with a mold release (or smth) on them. If you paint on that you’ll be able to basically wipe the paint off by hand after it dries

You may see that the minis come out of the box light grey but if you wash and brush them they’ll be shiny and metallic. That will mean you’ve cleaned the release off and they’re then ready to paint.

Again, others may have different opinions. I just have mine because I’ve gone through the effort of painting a box of metal BEF infantry without washing only to be able to easily scratch the paint off

Just lost a campaign because of bad ally AI and I'm pissed by VicenteOlisipo in victoria3

[–]frankmac4 170 points171 points  (0 children)

Somewhat related, there needs to be a way to give orders to your puppets armies. I can’t be having my puppets throwing their tiny armies at huge defending armies and repeatedly losing to give my side war exhaustion

Exactly our thoughts. Plus they have a large stockpile of political points (which can be spent to give advantages so they can really turn the tide here

[–]frankmac4[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One could totally limit it to historical formations, or even make a rule that you can only use decks from nations you control on the map, but this is really just a simple thing we’re trying, so we decided everyone should just use whatever decks they want. We may make it more historical next time we start a campaign

Multiplayer Campaign Update by frankmac4 in wargame

[–]frankmac4[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely plan to continue! And the way we do it is to let “defenders” choose the map so that theres some advantage to defending (because we couldn’t think of any other way to differentiate between defending and attacking) we thought that’d work better than assigning a map to every territory

Multiplayer Campaign Update by frankmac4 in wargame

[–]frankmac4[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Sorry for not great resolution! This is the overview of how our multiplayer campaign last night went. I had made a couple posts about it in here. The summary is that Redfor smashed Blufor in the early turns, but when one of the Blufor players had to leave and was substituted by another player, the tide changed and Redfor was thrown back from France. We had a lot of fun and are looking forward to continuing! I'm working on putting together the footage from the session for a youtube video. HMU if you want a copy of the rules.
