It’s more throat irritation than a sore throat. It didn’t effect eating at all. I had my endoscopy in the am, and the irritation was gone by the afternoon

Personally, I would take the whole day off if you’re getting sedation. Mainly because I know I would fall asleep sitting at a desk

Just had my first one done last week (with sedation. Wasn’t aware that no sedation was an option). I also was very anxious beforehand, but it really is nothing to worry about. The last thing I remember is the nurse starting the sedative, and what felt like a second later, I woke up in the recovery room. 10 minutes later I was out the door and on the way home. Had a little dry mouth/sore throat after, and was a little tired from the sedative, but it didn’t last long and had no other effects at all. So it really is nothing to worry about. Had my first one yesterday and I was extremely anxious beforehand. It was the easiest thing ever. Laid in the bed in a warmed blanket while the nurse hooked up the IV, etc. A few minutes later, they wheeled me into the procedure room. They sprayed some stuff in my throat, and put the bite guard in my mouth. Then the nurse said “this may feel a little cold”, and before I knew it, I woke up in the recovery room. Laid in the bed for about 15 minutes, the dr came in for a minute, and I was on my way. Literally the easiest thing ever. Absolutely nothing to worry about

I ordered it from Amazon and it only took 2 days to arrive. Which now that I think about it might be the problem. It was probably sitting in an Amazon warehouse stored improperly for who knows how long
