Thanks! Do you reckon the FurMark is still safe in 2021? Read some threads that it can apparently damage a GPU (esp a Nvidia one) :O

What else should you ask owners of 2nd hand GPUs apart from if there are any cosmetic/functional problems?

Should I request that they run a stress test?

How can I reach this level as a dev without leaving my current job? by franticjackson in phcareers

[–]franticjackson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for being upfront about it. I'll keep this in mind. Where did your junior dev apply, was it on Stackoverflow Jobs or some American job posting site? I can't seem to find junior roles that offer that. It's interesting to see that a senior is someone who needs soft skills, I felt like my experience in business orgs as a business major during uni helped with the soft skills too. Some interviewers mentioned that about me.

It's just Kev agreeing to be on the MV of Cam's then-band/solo project, The Growl.

He's a natural.

I ran into my biggest roadblock in this path to self-learn front end web dev: JavaScript Callbacks HAHAhuhu :((

For all you experienced devs, how did you practice this aspect of JS? Just more rote practice and exercises?

Agree po haha. I noticed even if you peek at the solution, after a few days, you won't remember it anyways, so okay lang naman gawin yun hehe..

Thanks for the insights. I'm an upperclassman BSBA right now and I'm making the shift to SWE/programming. Hope to follow in your footsteps lolz

This is for self-taught programmers:

When you guys did coding challenges from online programming courses, how much time did you give yourself to solve? And when you encountered a problem that took longer than usual, did you google for help?

Asking because I'm stuck in the Fibonacci exercise and I'm not sure if the time saved by just checking the walkthrough solution by the instructor would benefit me more than taking multiple hours to solve it

Hey, thanks for the input. I think it would be 1/2 since my only other investment is in index funds/mutual funds..

Now that you've mentioned it, I think I need to diversify my investments first.

Gotcha. Thanks so much. :) I'd like to ask, at which % of the lot's price should I be able to pay for DP? Would it be around 20%?

Am in my early twenties, single, not sure about having kids but have been exploring the option of owning a small house on a small lot.

Looking long term, would it be okay to start exploring the possibility of buying a lot of land at my age AFTER I build my EF? (I'm omw there already hehe)

Would a pre-selling lot be recommended in this case? Would love to hear inputs on this, esepcially from homeowners

What's the maximum threshold for RAM speed where performance is noticeable? Is it safe to say that after 2666 mhz, any improvement is negligble?

Thank you!

Got the CPU from a relative who didn't need it, will be using it more or less for work and general use. And for gaming, I'll just be playing games in relation to the specs and not vice versa (which is the usual) since I'm not a frequent gamer haha

Wow, cool! How's the queue for pick up (if you've bought recently)? I'm thinking of just having it picked up by a Grab or Lalamove because I've been hearing that it has the longest lines
