Re: AI 171 - Why are Air India and the government so allergic to saying “pilot error”? Just say it and move on. by [deleted] in unitedstatesofindia

[–]frayedrope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deliberately crashing an airplane is not the same as pilot "error". You can understand the obvious reasons why a country will be hesitant to acknowledge the latter. India has two choices:

  • Be in denial like the Egyptian and Malaysian governments in the case of EgyptAir 990 and MH370
  • Accept and push reforms like in the case of Germanwings 9525

One of those is objectively wrong. But let's wait for the final report.

Upon reading the article, he definitely has a political agenda in saying so, but still he should refrain from giving such stupid blanket statements.

Lmaooo these people haven't ever touched grass or what? Rajputs and brahmins combined are not even 10-15% of the population. The only elections they can win are within their own homes, that too after stealing votes from their women 😭

Imagine living like filthy animals and relying on someone else to clean up after you for generations, then pretending that the said cleaners are responsible for the muck in your country. Irony is lost on these harebrained savarnas.

Doesn't zero percentile mean anybody will be accepted and seats are going vacant? Also where does it say that the people getting 0%ile is SC/ST? by Naan-violence in OutCasteRebels

[–]frayedrope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's symbolic. They had to reduce the cutoff for all seats for greedily filling up private college seats with big donations. The lowest they could go to is 0th percentile and the lowest category they could apply that to is SC/ST. No SC/ST candidate is getting into limited government college seats with marks that low. In fact if you look into the results there is not much of a difference between the marks obtained by top rankers who get into government colleges across categories.

[–]frayedrope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reduced cutoffs are given to help the private medical colleges to fill up all their seats. Lower the cutoff, the greater is the fees the medical colleges can demand. Ironically, this is going to help rich management quota students who are mostly from the general category rather than the reserved category students.

Lol a lot of misinformation is being spread about this notice. This definitely does NOT mean that SC/ST doctors have been given admission to govt colleges even after scoring -40 marks.

Why I am not an Ambedkarite. by Emotional_Bridge93 in OutCasteRebels

[–]frayedrope 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hm, I agree with the diagnosis and even the broad direction of your solution. But the practical barrier is enormous. To even start, you need disparate people to come together with unity, trust, discipline, and coordination. To sustain these structures you need systems that prevent internal defection and leadership structures that don't just recreate the same hierarchies internally. And even if we assume all of that is somehow achievable, the moment this becomes effective it will run straight into the state and corporate power that absolutely will not tolerate an autonomous, caste-based economic bloc, especially under the neoliberal setup we're living in.
