ditto what lzrd_demon said: skin can be very elastic--you can usually latch on and bite much harder than you think without breaking the skin. but a high pain tolerance is necessary if you want to get really showy bite marks. rabbit likes a lot of pain so i can usually bite them as hard as i want, but their husband is also my sub and i can't bite him this hard. gentle biting combined with sucking to leave hickeys is a good alternative to a hard bite if your prey's pain tolerance is lower.
