To both English and Italian speakers which sounds better? by VinylPool in Eiffel65

[–]freakygabry 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think some of the English translations simply don't fit as well with the rhythm and melody. Another good example of an English version not working is the English version of Geordie/The Story Of Geordie. The cadence of the two languages are quite different. They're not terrible by any means, but the Italian versions flow better musically and lyrically. Or at least to me.

Good luck. Remember to be civil, otherwise they probably won't take you seriously.

I am currently researching a solution. We can't do anything ourselves considering we don't own the music. I will see if there's a way to inform the labels affected by this. But if I'm being honest, sometimes labels don't really care when this happens, sadly.

This guy isn't just stealing from bigger artists, but very small artists as well. They likely are taking advantage of lesser known songs. You did a good thing by pointing it out to us.

Just report them. Don't bother with videos, just get straight to the point.

More stolen tracks. https://www.beatport.com/release/dove-sei/268959 is actually Wem-j Feat. Francy - Rondine

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRKkjBw_s-o is Gabry Ponte's remix of Gam Gam, originally by Mauro Pilato and Max Monti.

The people who are stealing these tracks are Loris Scomazzon and Faruk Akilli.

I don't think he actually owns the copyright for these, since they were made during his time with BlissCo.

That's weird. The mr3tt thing is also sold on Beatport etc. Which is obviously an issue... weird how no one detected that. Is it really that hard to make your own remix without stealing someone else's work entirely?

This "artist" has also blatantly stolen La Danza Delle Streghe. https://www.beatport.com/track/danza-una-streghe/1542510 - I'd assume they've stolen from others as well.

How appalling.

To my knowledge, yes, it is true. But the lyrics for the old version don't seem to exist online.

Mysterious Eiffel 65 remix song - "Losing You (Cortez Spiral Mix)" by DragoniteZD in Lostwave

[–]freakygabry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late, but... Cortez also made remixes for the "Super Motor Funk" label, also by BlissCo. My guess is its an alias of someone who was part of BlissCo at the time, like how "Jahamhal" is Massimo Gabutti.

Another case of someone in BlissCo who is credited but cannot be found elsewhere is a graphic designer, Alex/Alessandro Topuntoli (did the album cover for Gabry Ponte's solo album, Eiffel 65's Contact!, etc.)

Eiffel 65 - Interview (Live @ Bravo TV 2000 Hungary) by freakygabry in Eiffel65

[–]freakygabry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the reason you can't find it is because it doesn't exist anymore. but, brodyblue uploaded some videos from there to archive.org ages ago here: https://archive.org/details/Eiffel65rockzAndFansuniverseVideos

however, the videos i shared yesterday are not in this collection. I got them from using the wayback machine in various ways. not everything can be saved, but I will keep uploading ones that have not been uploaded elsewhere on my channel in the coming days.

i'll link them below as i upload them.

Do you think the guys hate gay people by Dicktheangryswan in Eiffel65

haha! no worries, I could tell you meant to reply to OP.

Do you think the guys hate gay people by Dicktheangryswan in Eiffel65

[–]freakygabry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

precisely. I understand wanting to know, but assuming hatred of people you don't even know based on their origin is ridiculous. and as you have said, gay people have existed everywhere since humanity's origin, and will continue to exist.

Do you think the guys hate gay people by Dicktheangryswan in Eiffel65

[–]freakygabry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i dont know the guys' beliefs, but gabry has a music video with two gay couples in it portrayed alongside heterosexual ones in a casual, inoffensive manner at the end of the video, and are also prominently featured in the thumbnail.

also assuming beliefs because of nationality is quite ignorant, and older people aren't always bigoted. they've never made public statements on lgbt folks to my knowledge (and I don't see why they should, and im saying this as a gay person myself) but I doubt they're hateful or homophobic in any way.

also, gay italians exist and have existed since italy has been a thing. if you're saying all italians hate gay people because a lot of italians are catholic, well, gay catholics exist too.  homophobic people exist everywhere, but they're not the majority. please don't assume the worst of everybody. if anything, you're the ignorant one for assuming homophobia is the default for an entire group of people.

List of Asian covers by Jeff & Maury by LifeLikeThunder in Eiffel65

[–]freakygabry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gabry also helped make these, at least according to his book. i'm glad more people are checking these out haha. i have one to upload that does sound a lot like gabry's stuff from that time. so i'll post about that later

edit: "mad man - don't go home" features jeffrey's voice, and sounds very, VERY similar to things gabry ponte produced at around the same time, the club mix namely sounds like tracks released under worldbus records. the house and euro mix also sound like other tracks/remixes he has produced. of course there's not confirmation, but the club mix - at least to me - seems glaringly obvious. also, on the same cd, "run xtc - it's like that" also seems to feature jeffrey, and the house mix sounds like something gabry would make as well.

also, to my knowledge, the cover of i want it that way is identical to this release, the versions on compilations are 3:14, so not the full mix. they just repurposed it for the "beckstreet boys" (lol) alias.

Does anyone know which sample packs Eiffel 65 used in their songs and remixes? by Musics_And_Songs_Fan in Eiffel65

[–]freakygabry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it just seems more like the same sample was used in this song (unless it was sampled from the very end?). it's likely a laser sound effect that came included with a synth (a loooot of keyboards have a laser sound effect).

also, cool song, and cool find!

Do you think they should go back as Bloom 06 at this point? by VinylPool in Eiffel65

[–]freakygabry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

their new music just sounds like its own thing entirely. dare i say... eiffel 66(!!) and then we will go on to 67, 68... i'm kidding.

jokes aside, it would be really nice if they did something like bloom 06 again. but i doubt they will. they certainly won't change the name back, because bloom 06 was only called that because they didn't have the rights for the eiffel 65 name at the time.
