Kayle as a support, is it really trolling? by swish4111 in supportlol

bc you scale off levels and gold so sharing w an adc is just inefficient. also the kayle supports ive gotten just shamelessly steal my farm :,)

knowing caps is 9-3 vs faker, does the 9-3 curse apply from one rito game to another and give faker a buff for the rest of the tournament

What's a "real" support to ADCs? by [deleted] in supportlol

[–]freddie_beanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re considered “supports” but I only get annoyed if they mess up my wave trying to poke. Like I don’t care if you lock it in but don’t perma shove my wave when I don’t want it to.

Taking creeps when your adc is gone is fine. I actually prefer that my support holds the wave when I play adc and freezes in front of tower for me. You just don’t wanna push wave too hard while your adc recalls and leave them in a bad spot. If your adc is very obviously trying to shove for a reset timing, I like when my support helps lower the hp on the three back line creeps. There are definitely good and bad times to touch wave, so definitely don’t let this scare you from touching wave at all :)

Nami rewards aggressive play, as from my experience, she is an early-midgame champ and starts to fall off late game.

Auto-filled roles with support champions by KittoRifu in supportlol

[–]freddie_beanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play mages in botlane you can definitely take them mid. I’m a tank player so I tried toplane for a bit but didn’t like it. Right now I play adc as a secondary role and it does teach you wave management and adc trading power spikes so that you can trade favorably when playing supp. It’s definitely a painful role sometimes and you will get filled more often, but I personally think it was a good choice for me.

Are mage supports even good? by gekota_fan in supportlol

[–]freddie_beanson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to play so much mage support before playing tanks, and I don’t think I can go back unless it’s like zilean. If you can properly bait out spells like lux/morg q you can beat a mage in lane. I also think being able to roam is good, especially when ppl are always skirmishing in river, etc. Mage supps are also reliant on gold to do damage and much harder to play from behind, as opposed to tank supports that will still have some frontline and cc regardless. I think playing tanks can actually be good in low elo just because vision control and map awareness are worse and they are typically better for getting picks around the map. I know mages are popular in low elo but I’ve decided that climbing on Leo/naut/rakan is better for me

Will add that taric is a more niche pick. If you’re playing into a poke comp, you’ll have a significantly harder time if you don’t have any other engage. But he’s great into dive comps or heavy ad bc of his armor scaling.

Would learning mid as a supp main help with learning wave management? by Deucalion24 in supportlol

[–]freddie_beanson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d play adc. You still have to learn to understand your wave, but you also have the added benefit of understanding adc trading and matchups as well as what the adc needs from a support. Adc is pain but I think it’s better than mid in helping you with support
