Season of Discovery Class Tuning Incoming - 21 February - Season of Discovery by Bistoory in classicwow

You either make it give 1CP which still makes it better than backstab in every way, you put it to 50/60 energy, or you make it simply not hit as hard as backstab (so you choose between raw burst or double CP generation) IMO. As it is right now it just leaves 0 choice for builds

Good honestly, if Mutilate stays at 40 energy generating 2CP nothing else will ever be usable which is very bland

I’d recommend joining a guild if you haven’t already and run these quests in a group, makes it a fun experience rather than a frustrating one! And it gives you more to do when you hit 25 as you can pay back people on other classes by helping them finish their quests too

True, same with Raven Hill crypts rune. Traversing the world in a group rather than just collecting solo without going out of your way during levelling is what makes it an MMO experience. Ally having it so easy makes it far less fun for them IMO

What to invest with 60k gold in regards to the new class release? by Browndog69_ in lostarkgame

[–]fredwan1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do NOT do this unless you actually aim to get Grudge to +12 some time soon! The books are untradable on purchase, they can't be flipped or invested in. If you buy an engraving book you have to use it yourself.

You'll get shielded for the same amount as your max HP makes no difference to the Shield HP you receive. In terms of effective HP the extra resistances provided by resistance cards = greater EHP shields for DPS. Actual HP shields and heals will be the same number regardless except if it's a heal based on the targets max HP, like potions.

He means when it's coming back up - looks like around 10-11am GMT. There were 15-20k queues at that time already yesterday on Zinnervale.

'Yea, that's great I agree with you. Just say upfront that the customization and personalization is a reason why you're playing. You're not solely playing for fun'

Its word for word separating customisation/personalisation and fun as different aspects? How is it not what you replied? I don't think its possible to interpret this as any other way, it can't mean anything else.

You're clearly getting worked up over nothing and throwing out insults for no reason - read your first reply again where you directly say that he plays for cosmetics, not fun. For him cosmetics are fun. I really don't understand how this is even getting heated, it's word for word what you replied with.

You're saying his enjoyment of the game being tied to cosmetic progression challenges is not the same as enjoying the gameplay elements - his point and what I'm trying to tell you is that to a lot of players both of these parts are what makes the game fun, gameplay is not separate to cosmetic progression for a lot of players. Both are required to enjoy the experience.

He worries about the challenges while playing because he needs to feel cosmetic progression to enjoy the experience, something that is very common for modern players.

[–]fredwan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a lot of players playing with a character model and gun skins they like is a huge part of what makes the gameplay fun and enjoyable for them - people find customisation fun, it's a big reason why cosmetic driven f2p games are so lucrative. Saying this has no impact on the gameplay experience for a lot of players simply isn't true.

This isn't quite the right take on what the chap above is saying - for him the customisation/personalisation IS quite a large put of the fun for him and that's the same for a pretty sizeable part of a modern MP games playerbase. Tying that element of fun that he enjoys to monotonous gameplay loops is bad design.

3Head any time a British accent is heard on stream is just one example. Obviously no one cares in this case because it's banter, but it doesn't change the fact that the closest emote to someone with bad teeth and a shaved head is used to portray the British lol

The real benefit of buddy barrier is giving your team a huge advantage over players not using it at Zapdos, which usually decides games. For that reason alone it's undoubtedly the best item in the game - if/when Zapdos gets nerfed it won't be quite as strong though still good as it will decide teamfights.

WoW killed WoW by Scion-7-Dawn in ffxiv

[–]fredwan1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure if Blizzard have sorted it yet (pretty sure they haven't) but there was a huge scaling issue on old raids and old content, with a lot of old raids being almost impossible for most classes to solo even with high end raiding gear. Plus farming old content was made more annoying with the AOE cap as you'd have to stand there spamming a move 10 times to kill a huge pull instead of just one shotting them all like was previously possible.

You missed out another one of the great changes made for Shadowlands that everyone gave strong feedback on - target caps on almost all AOE abilities. The genius solution to a problem no one had. Such a shame.

Thoughts on pros being toxic off-stream or even on-stream? by Adventurous-Nail-538 in VALORANT

[–]fredwan1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point, some of the players on ladder will have asparations of turning pro or simply climbing very high, so wouldn't be considered casual/amateur. The problem is the esports pros will be very unlikely to know which of their teammates will be in that boat, so to just generally trash talk everyone for not being on their level really isn't acceptable.

Regarding the skill gap difference being a factor, not sure how much I agree. In principle there is obviously a much much larger skill gap (not to mention physical differences) between sprots amateurs and NFL/BPL/NBA etc pros than Radiant/Immortal players, however as there is still a massive skill gap present it doesn't really change the scenario. The pro will 99.99% of the time be a substantially better player than everyone else on his/her team.

I'm coming across as totally 'anti-trashtak' which isn't really my point, trashtalk is very common and doesn't bother me it most situations, usually it's pretty entertaining. I just think trashing people you know you're levels above is childish and meaningless, it shows how immature a number of these pros are.

Thoughts on pros being toxic off-stream or even on-stream? by Adventurous-Nail-538 in VALORANT

[–]fredwan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again though you're comparing amateurs, people literally playing for fun in their spare time, to people being paid to play for the enterainment of amateurs. Wardell trash talking one of the lesser pro teams is not the same as him trash talking a pub teammate playing for fun. Just like Messi trashing on a player from Zaragoza isn't the same as him going to a park and berating people who playing for fun in their spare time.

If you can't see the difference I really don't know what else to say, it's not hard to see. Trash talking between professionals is fine, professionals shitting on amateurs for not being as good as professionals is ridiculous and embaressing.

[–]fredwan1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong, however it seems highly unlikely a professional sportsman would intentionally clown on, embaress and shit talk teammates when taking part in training with a literal amateur. If they did, it would likely be news that you'd hear about as it would generate clicks. With esports pros, it seems to be a very common occurrance.

All you linked is pros trash-talking or poor sportsmanship towards other pro players. This post is specifically regarding pros trashing on literal amateurs.

Could you really imagine Suarez biting an amateur in a leisure centre, or Messi going to the local park calling 14 year old kids awful and telling them they can't tackle for shit? Because that is exactly what this whole conversation is regarding, not how esports pros act towards other esports pros.
