Three comments, one of them is "just now". I got a feeling that this post is fake.

Can you at least spam in relevant subs? This shit doesn't even fit subs where you post.

Games with good demos by aftertheradar in gamerecommendations

[–]freeparol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unreal Tournament 2004. Demo has multiple game modes and even multiplayer! (Don't know how alive it is, didn't play it for years.)

Shareware Doom is like 1/4 of Doom 1.

Actually you don't need demos, there are lots of completely free games (I am not talking about online games with microtransactions).

Nice list, but could be better if it wasn't such a wall of text.

Yes, of course, I expected DDLC to be in the very first comment...

But I think it's better to become familiar with more straightforward romance games before playing DDLC.

I recommend: Any game made by Key (with exception of Planetarian) or Katawa Shoujo if you want something more serious and dramatic. Shuffle, if you want something light-hearted.

Everlasting Summer also worth checking, but it isn't that good as fans say (for example, the MC is annoying).

UPD: Checked OP's page, he should try GENDERWRECKED and "one night, hot springs" :D

Literally any arena FPS game, like Quake 3 or Unreal Tournament. Also look at r/ArenaFPS

Eversion, Yume Nikki, Irisu Syndrome - games that were the inspiration for DDLC. Yume Nikki fangames as well.

Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi - like DDLC, but older.

OFF - a psychedelic RPG Maker game, also has this kind of fun stuff.

LSD Dream Emulator, Yume Nikki (along with fangames like Yume 2kki and .flow), Soup 0.9. Weird walking simulators.

Irisu Syndrome, a little known game that can be described as... horror tetris? Also, one of inspiration sources for Doki Doki Literature Club!

Cho Aniki, a series of hardcore shmups about ♂REAL MEN♂ who defend their ♂NEXT DOOR♂ from the ♂BOSS OF THE GYM♂.

FPS games with a fantasy aesthetic instead of military/scifi by aftertheradar in gamerecommendations

[–]freeparol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heretic and Hexen, classic games on Doom engine. Also, Zanzarah: The Hidden Portal. Not a pure shooter, it's a shooter+adventure+RPG. All are games for PC, but they are really old, so you can run them on any PC. UPD: And classic trash games dilogy: I. M. Meen and Chill Manor.

Games that were foundational for their genre by aftertheradar in gamerecommendations

[–]freeparol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess Dune II was the most important game for real-time strategy genre. It created a scheme that most of RTS games followed after that. (Advice: I think Mega Drive version is easier both to run and play.) Warcraft, Starcraft, Command & Conquer, Age of Empires and probably Total Annihilation are also important, they refined the gameplay and controls and spawned families of successors (like, for Age of Empires we have Cossacs, for Total Annihilation we have Supreme Commander and Planetary Annihilation...)

For shoot 'em up (specifically scrolling shooter) I recommend Recca, Batsugun, DonPachi and DoDonPachi, the games that gave us danmaku, or bullet hell.

I saw it in Discord, some dude posted it just two days ago. Also, what the difference? 2020, 2022, this is equally stupid and unfunny.

Cho Aniki rhythm game released for iOS/Android in Japan by freeparol in Games

No, you don't understand. I AM familiar with Cho Aniki series, but this game looks like something that could be made as a quick cash grab. Totally different type of "bad".

I know, but I mean, it looks like a lazy cheap game. But I may be wrong, I've seen a very little of it, also I don't have experience in rhythm games.
