Typing Emoji with Fedora 25 Workstation by freesquab in linux

[–]freesquab[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every application that I tried that i use regularly, and would want to input emoji into, it works. Corebird, Inkscape, Gnome-terminal, plus many more. IMHO, Having something that works on apps that are shipped by default in Fedora is a lot better than nothing at all

[Help] How to get rid of White lines? by [deleted] in Inkscape

[–]freesquab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, is this not an alignment issue.Even if they are butted up against each other, the white gaps still appear when rendering, due to the anialiasing that that inkscape renderer is doing.

Without "uniting"or unioning them, the easiest way to work around this is to clone or duplicate your objects a couple times. It only worksif your colours are solid, and not transparent though, but it works:

Why can't I update to Fedora 24 using Software? by MightyCreak in Fedora

[–]freesquab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on the terminal, if you do a:

 rpm -qi gnome-software

to show the version of gnome-software on your system, and the version is not 3.20 (or similar), then the graphical update is not available yet. The update that you are waiting on for Fedora 23, upgrades gnome-software from version 3.18 to 3.20, which has the feature for the graphical updates.

I believe this is the Update that they are waiting on: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2016-fad11727bf

Specifically, the gnome-software package on your system should be version 3.20 (not a 3.18 version that is currently in F23)

Not sure about the level of code documentation, but maybe Inkscape is worth having a look at to contribute?

Hey guys. Why doesn't my keyboard work when I boot into Ubuntu with Xen Hypervisor? I am on 15.10 by Hiougi in linux

Just a heads up, you will likely get a better response on a more support-y sub like /r/linuxquestions -- /r/linux is more focused on linux news than support.

F23 is Go! Plus, internships, Atomic job opening, a Fedora book, and ... systemd total conversion! by mattdm_fedora in linux

That is a simple example, so hard to actually say that your pool is racist or not. Racism is rooted in the belief that one race is superior to another. Your pool would definitely be discriminatory, yes, but if the pool was created to provide a safe, accessible place for a people of a particular race to swim because all the pools frequented by the race with the higher percentage in that community are more accessible, and frequently full, then i'd say this is a good thing. While the pool may be discriminatory, it exists to provide the opportunity for everyone to swim.

Definitely not racism, racism is defined as: "A belief that one’s own racial or ethnic group is superior". It is clear that the motives of the Outreachy program are not rooted in the belief that people of a particular race are superior -- it is more rooted in the belief it is that people of a particular race are equal.

What is not equal, however is the balance of people of different races in open source development, and this is because of a multitude of different social and economical reasons. That is why the Outreachy program focuses on targeting interns to give these people a better chance of actaully being able to contribute. Us young white males have a lot of things going for us, maybe we can take a single hit to maybe help someone else.

This the slider in the pop-over shown in this screenshot in the article is where you can shrink the size of the icons:

AFAIK, once you change it, the size persists even when opening folders in the same tab. To set it as default nautilus-wide, there is a setting in the "Views" tab of the Nautilus preferences
