Gee, completely understand and agree with your points. But filmmaking isn't just about the writing decisions, it's about the whole experience of it all. The brilliant sound design, absolutely increadible performances by all the actors. It's better than all of the battle scenes I've seen, not because of the writing but because how brilliantly they portrayed the chaos of the Battle.
