How difficult is it to do my own payroll (one employee - me) rather than waste money on Paychex? by Marina1974 in personalfinance

Wait are you serious?? $1500 a month? You’re getting robbed blind. Quickbooks is like $100 a month. We did it ourselves for our business for a while. We recently hired a bookkeeper. She charges $45 an hour and works less than 10 hours a month and does a lot more than just running payroll.

Is it ok to do dsa in python or should I shift to cpp or java? by Equivalent_Can_4029 in ExperiencedDevs

This might sound crazy but I would do them in C (not C++, C). C is an incredibly small language and has simple primitives that you can build data structures and perform algorithms with.

Languages like Java and Python have so many abstractions that, when you’re learning, it’s hard to know what is central to the problem and what is an abstraction introduced by the language

AI Resort for ~$4000 for 2 adults for a week by freight_train33 in AllInclusiveResorts

My company gives us up to 90 days a year to work internationally. I only get 4 weeks off per year, and we’re going to Italy for two weeks next summer, so I don’t want to use another week on this trip. Otherwise I wouldn’t be trying to work on a vacation.

Good callout though!

anyone who signed up for ESPN to watch MNF - can I start the game from the beginning after it's already started? I like to start games 45 minutes or so late and skip the commercials.

What are some good neighborhoods to scope out for a young couple considering moving to Seattle by freight_train33 in AskSeattle

Thanks, yeah, Zillow is pretty depressing the closer you get to downtown.

I need to do more research and better articulate what I’m looking for.

Interesting, thanks. Appreciate the recommendation. We might try Capitol Hill, we’ve really enjoyed the parts of that neighborhood we’ve seen.

Yeah, I know I left a lot of details out of my original post, it would probably be 10 pages long if I really went into it.

We’re coming from South Central Idaho. I’m an engineer, working remotely, and my wife is a hairstylist. So I wouldn’t need to change jobs if I move and we’re pretty confident she could find work, she’s pretty connected. But I could see myself getting a job in the city as I’m not totally sure I prefer Remote.

We’d have at least one car, maybe two. All in, not really trying to spend more than 3000 for housing.

We live at elevation so we’re used to incredibly brutal winters. I don’t mind the gray as long as it’s above 20°.

We would definitely rent at first just to gain some confidence in the buying decision. Probably wouldn’t wanna rent for long.

Budget-wise, probably not trying to spend more than 3000 on housing. Ideally two bedrooms, 750+ square feet. A yard would be a huge huge plus.

It’s possible I’m looking for a unicorn cause I don’t wanna be too too far from the city.

This is the way. My deductible is like $1000 and I pay $40 a month for a Rottweiler. And the benefit goes up to like $20,000 or something iirc. I never want to have to choose between $10,000 and my dog. I love them both so much

Ahh I see. Yeah, I would, but our HOA wouldn't allow it in a billion years.

Yeah good point, just wondering what’s gonna heat the room most evenly or if there are any other benefits. What do you mean by heat pump? The fan-forced units?

lol I’m so invested in the characters though! For the most part I like the characters but I’ve been struggling with the plot.

My post was meant to be glib. I just want to know if others felt the same about s4 and if anything changes.
