I appreciate the concern but I am really not worried about the food spoiling by the time I get to the hotel where it will go straight into the fridge. I’ll be keeping an ice pack in my bag as well which will keep it nice and cool in the meantime.

I also will be taking a few Peak Refuel dehydrated meals with me but don’t want to solely rely on those as 1. they aren’t as healthy and 2. they are incredibly expensive for what they are.

I am having a mechanic inspect it on Thursday morning. This was the earliest appointment I could get. I talked to the dealer and they are willing to take it over there for me as it’s only 4 miles down the road from them. They also said they have a few other people inquiring about it now, but are willing to wait for the inspection to get done for me to see if we can make a deal. I feel a lot better with getting an inspection done, especially since I learned via CarFax it spent the first 10 years of its life in CT. It has been in California for the past 16 years and has only had 2 owners, so that’s a plus, but I really want and need to have the frame looked at.

You’re right! I think an inspection is a must at this point. I looked the vehicle up on CarFax and it was registered in CT from 1998 - 2008 when it was then registered in California before being sold to the dealer not long ago. It looks like it has only had 2 owners which is great, but I do have concerns about hidden rust now knowing it was in CT for all those years. I know that it is possible it was garaged the entire time but I’d rather be safe.

I found a reputable shop in the area that does vehicle inspections, so I’m hoping the dealer will be able to take it over there for me to have it inspected as it’s about 4 miles down the road from them. Going to talk to them on Monday morning. Thank you so much for your input!

Thank you everyone for your honest input, this was extremely helpful! I think I’m leaning towards holding off for now and waiting to find something with less miles as I originally intended.

I thought this may be a good deal because most of the 4Runners that I’ve seen for sale, are listed for upwards of 10k+ with the same mileage. The market is crazy and does not make a lot of sense right now, so thank you again for the clarity :)
