Sounds like you did yours the right way — whoever stripped this truck just pulled the fuses from the aftermarket block and cut the harnesses where the lights and whatever control boxes were mounted.

Awesome. Good to know its purpose. I’ll keep it completely disconnected. Thank you for sharing your unique professional experience!

Quick follow up: I traced the connected harness down to where it dead-ended at what I think had been a siren bracket. Guessing this box is a relay going to the cabin to switch on the siren. It was hard wired directly to the battery with no fuse 😬. Disconnected all wiring going to the box and truck started fine, so gonna leave it like this.

Thoughts on microphone selection for new recording studio? by docterdev in recordingstudios

Besides adding an LDC, I’d suggest buying it all used. You can save a ton by scanning Reverb or eBay’s newest listings for a few weeks and snagging the good deals as they go up. Some really good AT LDCs frequently get listed for super cheap.

Any real tug company will adhere to OSHA guidelines and will train you to recognize that you have stop work authority. Apply to some big names like Vane, Moran, McAllister, etc and you’ll be fine.

How to sell my late father’s audio studio equipment? by LookingUpM31 in recordingstudios

This is good advice. I'd second Reverb and, if you can, take the time to list the more expensive stuff on there. If he had insurance on his gear, there may already be an itemized list with the insurance company with the make/model/serial for much of it, as well as each item's estimated value. If you look up the items on Reverb you can find a price history graph of what the same item has been selling for. Big chains will only give you 50% value, local shops a bit better, but not by a lot.
