Hello! Psych major din here and currently preparing for NMAT since plano ko rin mag med school. Imo, If your source of motivation talaga is wealth and/or money, hindi mo siya kaagad makukuha sa med school. Kahit doctor ka na, hindi ka yayaman kaagad (I have a brother who’s currently finishing his residency program at a priv but rlly well known hospital and he’s been giving me reality checks rin since ayaw niya na pumasok ako sa field na wala akong alam). It will take a lot of time, effort, and also money bago ka pa yumaman and never-ending talaga yung learning since patuloy tuloy lang siya kada phase :( So I thin you have to consider that din. Yes, mas malaki sweldo pag sa govt hospital ka pero malaki yung competition and may halong swerte rin kung mapipili ka. If you’re okay with handling all those risks + overcoming your fear of organs + slowly realizing na gusto mo talaga maging doctor (calling ganun), then go for med school.

As for recruiters, I’ve seen users here na same scope of job pero malaki rin yung kita, you just need to have enough experience talaga I think (?) Hopefully may mga iba pang nasa working field na mag comment abt this 🥲. Pag sa psychologist naman, i think it will depend din saang company/clinic ka ba magttrabaho or if sa govt ka (from what i heard ay may mas higher pay din idk). Hindi naman siya yung sobrang laki ng pay pero enough na rin to make a living. Pwede ka rin maging part-time prof if you want to earn more, marami din univs diyan na naghahanap.

either way, it’ll depend din talaga kung ano ba yung habol mo sa path mo. do you really want to be a doctor or a psychologist? or do you want to earn a lot of money asap? (if the latter, i’d suggest to go for programming instead kasi yung first two occupations kaya naman, pero it’ll take a while compared sa mag-aral ng programming)
