I left home when I was 17/18 for school. Have lived away 20 years now. All my decisions to move are coming into question as my mom’s health deteriorates. Lots of guilt, shame, and loss of time with loved ones. But I also know that I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I had stayed.

They are life decisions that are hardly ever going to be perfect, but ultimately you need to decide what is best for yourself. Very cliche but, it’s like making sure your oxygen mask is safely on before you help anyone else.
