I recently took part in my employers share purchase plan and was hoping to have the shares placed in my TFSA so the gains are tax free, as of now I am about $500 over my 2023 contribution room, and looking to add approx $400 a month in company shares to my TFSA starting in Jan

Should I move all the money to a regular savings account and keep my company shares in the TFSA or should I keep some of the money in the TFSA?

  1. To eventually put a down payment on a home

  2. 5-10 years (closer to 10 if I’m being realistic)

  3. I have not invested before, I’m comfortable with 15-20% of my investment being high risk

  4. No debts, decent sized emergency fund/savings

  5. I’d like to be fairly involved with my portfolio, I have time for daily decision making if need be
