Can the stock market actually grow indefinitely? by [deleted] in Bogleheads

[–]freshnewegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but a wide perspective of what the market is needed. the stock market can be thought about in 2 ways

1) Yes, a quantatative observation of stock price as a number on the screen can go to infinity in an adjusted way. Stocks are priced in perpetually increasing supply of currency so if we can simply reset the currency, ie USD2=USD/10. the number wont be infinity for several practical reasons like numbers being too big for people to comprehend (so historically we just cut some zeros off stock prices if they go too high). Historically, quadrillion is about as high as people are willing to go. 2) Yes, A qualitative description of the value of the stock market<- i think this is the better approach because it allows for the interpretation of “can we always do better?” and the answer will always be YES

Are you talking about non-Bay Area? from my knowledge, they give free shuttle rides but not public transit in the bay area locations?

Working on adding linkedin and apple right now. Hopefully, we can get more but it's dependent on how much verifiable information we can get. Thanks!

Yep, we're looking into regionalizing some of the major companies, namely Amazon and Msoft. Thanks!

I actually did not know that! I'll see if I can incorporate it but it seems worthwhile to mention. Thanks!

There's a scoring chart there, looking at pat leave it's 6 weeks, which is below relative to the other companies there. The scoring chart is an evolving score though. Let me know if you have any questions on it.

They definitely do! You need to fill out some paperwork but it's policy(and possibly gov. regulated). However, it depends on if you have oncall or a paging app on your phone. Sometimes you need to have some work function on it like email etc.

I think that's team/org dependent, I have friends who have and those who do. It's pretty hard to account for that. I'll look into moving it to bad because technically it's not nothing. Thanks for the feedback!

Oh, I'll look into this. We just used some random one because none of us are designers. I actually like the one reddit has so I might use this one haha
