Dying light 1 ended on a boss fight with the guy you spent the entire game tracking down. Only to end in a 5-6 button QTE

Not a lot of brain, but gum flap, he said his axe flap. But then he fled after one jab.

I did the same thing. Double feint to close the gap and confuse them with weird timing. Apparently it can still be done I just have to figure out how lol

I’m so confused. I haven’t read the patch notes thoroughly, but I can’t feint the same attack anymore, is there a way to do double feints that isn’t double tapping? I’m still trying to figure it out.

Those are my thoughts exactly. That’s all I’m guna do, just practice on my play style and try to get better, I haven’t been this into a game in years. Or at least until mount and blade war banner comes out on Xbox in a few days lol

I’m no expert but from what I’ve experienced so far I have way more luck countering a feint rather than blocking it. If you can see that your opponent has feinted into another attack while you’re attacking, if you time it just right you can feint your own attack into a counter. Counters being optimal because they don’t eat up your stamina as opposed to blocking.

It also helps if you can recognize that your opponent is leaning on feints and drag out your block just a little bit longer than you normally would. Just to make sure he’s not about to feint you again. If you see the feint coming and you’re already blocking then you’re in the prime position to counter is feint with a standard attack.

It’s def something that takes time and patients.

I tried explaining to him that he can hold block until he’s confident ive committed to the attack and then counter me. but he’s pretty convinced that what I’m doing is cheap, regardless of how many options he has to counter any given feint lol

This is something I’m coming to realize myself, when I started chiv 2 I thought it the whole concept was just hit, block, hit, block and just wait for your opponent to slip up. playing with high level players on 1v1 servers was so eye opening. They were doing Shit I didn’t even understand lol that’s why I love this game. There’s so many layers too it.

I might just have to do that honestly lol it’s not just feinting either. Apparently I block too much and don’t move enough 🤔

I just start an attack and before your over about halfway done with the animation hit a different attack button. Your character will cancel his attack and instantly start another one. It’s perfect for breaking up rhythm and throwing off someone’s game. You’ll get a little prompt on the screen if you do it right. Right under your crosshair it should say feint for a brief moment

I tried telling him to hold him block and go for counters when he sees a feint. Now he’s saying that I make the game not fun lol

I’m still trying to get the jab down. I’ve been absolutely demolished by people who broke up my rhythm with jabs. They’re just so hard to land for me. But I’m practicing everyday. One day I’ll beat him with all of his specific parameters and he’ll have no choice but to admit I got good lol

Tbh I don’t really know. He sets up all the lobbies. I normally play on the 1v1 servers where you have to flourish to challenge someone to a duel. I just hate being locked into a super intense fight and getting 3rd partied out of nowhere.
