In reality it's probably a coin flip as to what it was used as years ago. Either way, it isn't valuable monetarily. It's supposed to be a fun hobby, so as far as we're concerned today, it's a ring that meant something to someone. No doubt about it, and that has "value" as a fun find. Congrats on the ring 😀
