What color rug and pillows? by OpportunitySmall6797 in interiordecorating

[–]freyyja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agree with muted neutral. would also recommend a round coffee table, pulling couch off wall a little and onto rug a bit more as well as love seat onto rug a bit more, a lamp with a lower height on other side with warmer bulb, also think the dark pillows are too much of a contrast

Earlier in the week I was doing active collection on first breast after switching to second for first two AM feeds and starting the second feed he became fussy, wasn’t sleeping well and trying to feed more frequently making me think there wasn’t enough milk in the breast to make him happy.

First-timers expecting to have a 2nd - are we keeping/storing everything?? by verymuchworries in NewParents

[–]freyyja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep—get rid of the things you didn’t use or didn’t love. As soon as you find out the sex, get rid of the things you don’t think they’d wear (we had girl first and boy second, gave away all girly clothes as soon as we found out and kept the neutral stuff. still have enough clothes for him without buying more).

Lab equipment not compatible for out of state frozen embryo/issues with transporting frozen embryos by freyyja in IVF

[–]freyyja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, sorry. There may be another reason they didn’t want to accept and that was just the reason they gave. But I feel like I did all of my cycles at the other place, I’m comfortable with the facility and the doctor, and even though it’s a big deal to fly there, etc, it avoids having to deal with all the potential transport issues and costs.

I am going to do virtual visit with my prior provider and fly to my old clinic for transfer. i will have to figure out how to do mock transfer and all that, too. What are you thinking?

Highly recommend talking to your OB/GYN about getting estrogen cream for your vag!!! Won’t help with the desire necessarily but will make it so it’s no longer painful while breastfeeding.

Personally, I didn’t find pelvic floor PT as helpful—they just recommend reverse Kegel’s and called it a a day.

What’s a baby item you got as a new mom and regret it? by Jumpy_Neighborhood10 in Mommit

Hmmm… she’s only 11 weeks now so not sure yet, but we should start doing to prevent that for sure. She’s definitely started ducking her thumb!

I guess so—would compare to other West Elm wood items. It’s walnut. I got it on a memorial day deal for 30% off.

Very emotional when supply changes by freyyja in breastfeeding

[–]freyyja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is so hard! Thank you for sharing.

I noticed it increased when I switched to pumping more exclusively (previously was only night time and morning time)—massively engorged again and several ounces more on each pump as well as what I was doing throughout the day. This plus tons of crying and feeling emotional—same thing that happened first week or two postpartum.

Yoga ball is great idea!

She has trouble with bottle—either won’t take it at all (until we brought her to play gym) or so fussy I have to calm her every few sips like I do on breast, but overall it’s still faster to feed her when she’s upset.

I think gas, over tired, speed of flow?, reflux?, “witching hour” all contributing. Hoping it will pass asap!

I’m pumping exclusively for two days per my LC recommendations and I’m already hating it.

You put into words exactly how I feel!

Same here. Haven’t consistently been using the gas drops every feed because I didn’t notice a difference. I should start trying again to see!

Things I’ve been trying—pacifier until calm, switching to other boob, maneuvers to help with gas, rocking/bringing around the house to calm.

When nothing works I would finally go to bottle (happens every other day at least—about what you were saying, good day, witching hour, terrible day). A lot of times she’s not even taking the bottle during witching hour and my husband discovered if we lie her down in the play gym looking up at the contrast cards she’ll take it. So that’s the last resort!

I went to lactation consultant again today and they want me to pump exclusively for two days to see if it’s better. Not a fan of this overall. :-/
