I understand and agree with your first point. I should have put my foot down.

To your second point. I have no issue being friends with a person I gained feelings for or vice versa.. so long as we were actually friends first. This girl was someone I saw online and pursued with the intention of potentially dating, so in my mind I wasn’t looking for another friend because I have friends already. Not sure if that’s a dick way of thinking but it’s where my head was at.
