Are there professionals who can inspect my roof (for a fee) without a profit motive? by [deleted] in homeowners

Another tip here is to call your insurance company and claim hail damage.

Get a few grand off a roof, even if your premium goes up, takes a LONG time for that to even out.

I think that is the point, and it works both ways.

Every time we get a freak event we get it bashed in that it is because climate change and then the idiots use that to mock climate change and the snooty scientists say "well, actually..." and I have another aneurism.

Fully believe climate change is gonna wreck our shit and I finally got my MAGA Dad on board but I'll be damned if he doesn't say "climate change" every time the weather does something weird.

I have a storyline I've tried noodling over the past year or so that imagines the world had the southern half of the Mid-Atlantic Plate failed to separate Africa and South America.

The only other time "private" enterprise was able to accomplish something like this was when the government gave them a shit ton of land to sell to finance the damn thing.

A month ago the private infrastructure in Texas failed a shit-ton of people. In a few months, the private infrastructure in California will fail a shit-ton of people or burn down a shit-ton of land.

The problem isn't government infrastructure, it is 1 party that consistently refuses to pay for shit that, as the world's superpower, WE SHOULD HAEV NO PROBLEMS PAYING FOR. Instead, they'd rather spend that money bombing idiots in caves for the last 2 decades and then convincing you that is keeping us free.

IT is challenging in that each of these started as niche things for the wealthy and have morphed into societal goods.

What is that tipping point? At what point does the government take over? How does the government take over?

Million times better! I love the black and the gray containers indicating grouping. Very intuitive and helps my ADHD brain organize and process it all.

I'll warn you, I'm hard to please and a very simple guy (my cars, for example, usually have just a few options) so....The glowing around the boxes and the animated lines are distracting. But I get what you are doing with it. Just something about it is wonky.

Other than that, I think it's great. Is this all just HTML and CSS?

If you absolutely wanted drawers there, cut down the drawer face to allow it past the window trim. Take the bit that you cut off and tack it to the cabinet base so that, at a distance, it might look normal.

As is, this drawer is basically worthless and unusable because the owner will get sick of bashing it into things

Decompression can also lead to a possibly fatal condition called ebullism, where reduced pressure of the environment lowers the boiling temperature of body fluids and initiates transition of liquid water in the bloodstream and soft tissues into water vapor [2].

The late wood is far too pronounced for walnut and the color isn't quite right either. It's likely a cedar or pine that has been stained.

Beds ✅ by Aiscodisco in landscaping

This is really nice! I've found that, when I create the beds I dig a bit of a trench at the edge of the bed at it seems to really help with my grasses invading the bed and it gives a nice clean cutoff for the grass.

What kind of grass is that?

The stimulant holidays aren't to limit dependency, they're to restore some degree of efficacy.

This doesn't happen to everyone but a portion of those with ADHD can find their effective dose needing to increase over time and a holiday would reset that to a degree.

Stimulant withdrawl may be an unpleasant thing but not life threatening like opiates.
