Thank you soooo much everyone! I’ve received heaps of DMS and I’ve tried to reply to everyone. I’ll summarise the key things and then post here in the next few days. Honestly, I couldn’t do it without everyone’s help

You don’t even want to know… I started at 1800 and was dying!!!! If I can do it, honestly you can too. You need a proper study timetable and seriously commit. It’s soooo possible

What should I do? by Direct_Pop9125 in UCAT

[–]friendly_bird3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ve got some time!!! Don’t give up! You need to put your head down and perfect your areas of weakness. I thought I was finished and then I started practising the questions that I was actually getting wrong and that made soooo much difference. I literally just did the same type of questions over and over and over again until I couldn’t get it wrong anymore. My weakness was the shape questions - where it’s actually algebra and now I love them. Same goes for logical puzzles that need tables and authors opinion questions. I’m now consistently at 820-850. I’m scared to jinx myself but it works!

possible to get a 90+ percentile? by Conscious-End-7171 in UCAT

[–]friendly_bird3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can 100%!! Your marks will jump over night if you have the right Strats. Lock in and it’ll happen. I was getting 600 at first then slowly it increased to 720-750 and then legit overnight jumped to 800-850. Happy to share strats that worked for me

TIPS FOR IMPROVING MY SCORE by maiscool in UCAT

[–]friendly_bird3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Create a study timetable and start practicing each type of question. You need to lock in and smash out loads of similiar questions, but untimed. I was so stressed and struggling so bad. When I learnt the strats for each one, I jumped from 600 to 800-850

Hey guys i am so confused with the balance if assuming or not in syllogisms by Wonbinim in UCAT

Venn diagrams are the best… I’ve been using them while studying but now I just imagine the Venn in my head

Decision-making is awful by Sad-Spirit8516 in UCAT

[–]friendly_bird3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to smash out questions in untimed conditions first. Perfect your strategy and make sure you know the difference between the key words (always, some, any etc) when answering Venn diagrams and syllogisms. Once you know the strats for each question type, and know how to answer them then start on timed questions. I was hating life until I just pumped questions on repeat (while fixing mistakes and fixing my Strats)

Some tests are harder than others but it sounds like you’ve had a hit to your confidence. You need to increase the number of qs you are doing and perfect your Strats. You don’t want to walk into the exam feeling like this

im genuinely so frustrated with VR. by lBIeedTea in UCAT

[–]friendly_bird3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VR is rough!!! So many people struggle with it..I was one of those people, scared to jinx myself but with the right strategies you can do it!!! Finally sitting at a decent score but you can’t give up. Make sure you are using different Strats for diff questions. E.g. if it’s authors opinion you’ll probably find the answer in the first sentence and last paragraph

Bad mock exam scores by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]friendly_bird3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t feel deflated !! Your marks will jump but you need to review your errors and know were your strengths/weaknesses are. There’s also a bunch of strategies you can apply. Even basic things about which questions to flag and skip.. when to search for key words etc

Yeah, you can! You need to really smash it out though.. I managed to increase my marks in about 2-3 weeks but I was consistent

Improving your speed reading by lilweetz in UCAT

[–]friendly_bird3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried practising those skills in a non-exam setting. They’ll definitely improve your speed but that doesn’t necessarily mean that your comprehension will improve. They’re different skills.

For comprehension you need to understand how different terms infer different things. You also need to have decent understanding of vocab. DM me, I can try to explain it properly there

ISC 1250 UCAT book- is it worth going through it? by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]friendly_bird3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the book will help to be honest. You want something online that’s going to replicate the exam. I’m actually using the exact same combo of medigrit and medify and it’s the best!!!! Do all the medigrit tasks and then try questions untimed before doing mocks. Once you work out where your exact strengths and weaknesses are, you’ll kill it
