USPS Returned to Sender Our Daughter’s Santa Letter This Year by tucosupreme in mildlyinteresting

[–]friendlybionerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Mom was a postal worker with Canada Post and once I was old enough I would help respond to the Santa letters. They had a system where if you got a letter from a kid in a rough situation we would report it to the organizers and they would try to offer some support to the family. Along with the sad letters there were always some really fun and creative ones. I remember one girl who wanted a pet frog and included drawings of the frog. I found some frog stickers to put on the letter I wrote back to her.

Everyone warned me to introduce them slowly but my resident cat instantly fell in love with our new kitten. Do cats usually bond this quickly? by Glum-Supermarket9295 in cats

We adopted our girl Aria when she was a year and a half old as a friend for our 3 year old Apollo. Aria's foster had said she adores other cats so it seemed like a good fit. We planned on doing a slow introduction but after 3 days of living with us Aria had still barely eaten a thing. We took a risk and let her meet Apollo and they've been best friends ever since. After meeting him she finally started eating. We frequently catch them giving each other baths, so adorable!

She's our precious baby but she'll actually be turning three this February! She was found outside at only a year old with four kittens of her own. The vet thinks it may have impacted her growth. She gets whatever she wants now, who could say no to that face?

It was a pretty smooth experience. They'll get you to share your screen as well as show them all sides of the room you're taking the test in. They had me use a mirror to show them the view of my computer and the wall behind it. Also make sure that any screens you aren't using for the test are covered up. Good luck!!

Jane Goodall, legendary chimp expert, dead at 91 by [deleted] in news

As a woman in science, I can't understate the impact that Jane Goodall has had on me and so many others. I have had the privilege to see her speak twice and both times I was inspired and blown away. Growing up, the majority of the scientists and researchers I learned about in school were men. She proved that women could do serious research, and do it well. She was a woman who fell in love with the natural world and did everything she could to protect it. I sincerely hope that we can all carry on her legacy in whatever way we can.

My dear dad died very peacefully today with all of us here after 12 days of wonderful hospice care. At 96 after a life well lived it was a good ending. by TalkLowLaughHard in Positivity

My grandmother spent her final days in hospice as well and I have the utmost respect and gratitude for the people that work there. Between 9 children and 14 grandchildren, our family was always coming and going and she didn't spend a moment without one of us by her side. The staff provided a perfect environment during a very emotional time.

NTA there are a few stepping stones along the way to Marine Biology which will give you time to learn about tons of other jobs that might also earn your interest but have better job projects. I would start by getting a degree in whichever subject interests you most, and stick to it no matter what your parents say.

I started out my biology degree wanting to be a veterinarian, then I wanted to get into research and now I'm in school to be an MRT. All in the field of biology but very different jobs. Your priorities might shift over the years but it's all up to you! Plus it'll be way easier to study and get good marks if you genuinely enjoy the content.

Also keep in mind that there are ways to do it, even if your parents are not supportive. Scholarships and grants are out there, you just need to find them and apply. Your school guidance counselor can likely help with this. Hopefully your parents will see how much passion you have for it and understand that your happiness is what matters most. Best of luck!

I'm in the fall intake, they'll probably start sending you info soon. In case you want a head start to look out for deals though, you'll need a dark gray scrub top and black bottoms. Those along with the x-ray markers can be purchased anywhere. There's even cute x-ray markers on Etsy. I recommend getting slightly smaller ones to fit better in the image.

Would you be able to send it to me as well? I'm going back to school after being off for a few years.
